Hello, do I have to drain the coolant from the radiator before removing the water pump?

I have a 2016 Lexus ES 300h with 279k miles. I never heard anyone say anything about a fuel filter before let alone having it changed! Is that something I should be concerned about as a preventive maintenance? Thanks!

I have a 2016 Lexus ES 300h with 279k miles and is giving me codes P261B and P148F (Engine Coolant Pump "B" Control Malfunction & Engine Coolant Pump Over Revolution). I found this video searching for "Toyota Hybrid Water pump" and found that your engine compartment looks just like mine so I was excited to find it! I will be doing this replacement myself on Saturday and you've make it look so easy to do! I hope for the best! Also, can you explain what is the importance of putting it in maintenance mode? What does the car do in that mode regarding the pump? Just that just make the engine run continuously regardless of how full the hybrid battery is? THANKS ABUNCH!!

The filter needs to be checked every ten thousand miles. I cannot imagine Toyota would require all these steps just to remove a filter. Wow.

I've got the same code. However, before the engine failed I was getting some strange engine coolant High readings. I changed the temp sensor and it didn't fix it. Back a couple of months ago before the temp problem, the car had a pretty bad misfire. But it was intermittent.

Thank you! Didn't seem difficult but it's always helpful to be able to run through it & double check. Doing this fixed a rough idling problem my 2AZ-FXE had. The fuel out of the filter wasn't as dark as this but was still grey. Mine only has 141000km. I managed to get the Ryco filter on special at supercheap for $54, do you have any experience with them & their longevity?
