The Worlds Fastest Lego Car
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 7 měsíci
In this video we take on the challenge from @Project-Air air to build the worlds fastest lego RC car. This project wasn't without it's challenges, but I believe there's even more speed to be had for anyone trying this one out.
Worlds Fastest RC Tracked Vehicle
zhlédnutí 86KPřed 9 měsíci
In this video we set out to beat rctestflight and his incredibly fast tracked vehicle. This was way harder than I expected and took several different 3D printed designs and electric motor configurations. Alot of people have asked about the chain for my tank tracks, here's a few amazon affiliate links to the chains I used and some other key hardware: amzn.to/48xyL7o Here is my favorite RC Transm...

ChatGPT is all the rage right now, and it does show a big improvement in the capabilities of AI. In this video I explore if I think ChatGPT will replace engineers as well as other professions. This is an arduino controlled Robot that I made using 3D printed gears, a DIY circular saw and various other components. The arduino code was written by ChatGPT, so it's fair to say that ChatGPT can progr...

Tha sounds awesome. Estes actually made a rocket dragster kit doing exactly what you described.

You need to learn what gussets are.
What failure mode from these videos do you think gussets have prevented?
@@EngineeringAfterHours The gussets would prevent the front and rear frame collapse which is often seen as the wheels bend or fly off. This is important with square tube construction. I think round tube has a strength and weight advantage over square tube though you would need a bender and hole cutter to make good solid welds. I also see that the direct steering in most "boxes" is way too twitchy and needs a second linkage to reduce and buffer the steering input. Perhaps a gear reduction would be a good solution even if the wobbles happen. It also seems that bigger-diameter wheels/tires have an advantage over smaller ones. I love these races and would love to build a car with a team sometime.
@superbmediacontentcreator that failure mode didn't happen in this case...so it wouldn't have been an improvement but it would have taken time that I didn't have. The frame is also deliberately designed to flex since there is no suspension I think you're over thinking the point of the redbull soapbox races. The car in this case had several failure points deliberately designed in because it was modeled after the crash scene from wolf of Wallstreet.
Hello! Your video is very insightful! I wonder if you could create a tutorial for mold design that used for casting silicone? I am exploring how to design a mold document for 3d printing when I already have a 3D model. Thank you!
THank you! Got my sub.
Robot like me woww
Wonder if floor designs where vortices are generated along the sides of the floor, starting in front of the floor, would work in maintaining some sort of floor sealing consistently. The way F1 does it these days. Also wondering about the math of the load necessary vs area vs fan suction
How much to buy
Try aiming the gas thruster at a 45 degree angle off the vertical from the mid chassis position. Forward thrust would be less but would result in greater downward force for traction and might reduce mass by eliminating the wheelie bar. my 2 cents worth.
Did anyone mention rake? Or shock limiters?
We need to talk... I'm doing the same with a Datsun 280zx.
how did you make the tire adhesive. i'd rather make it than buy it if i can.
Really cool project my friend! Awesome! Really impressed how u manage to move your rc while sticking to the board. Will you do a project wall climbing rc using this downforce fan? maybe a building inspection rc?😁👍🏼
Hi my friend, found your channel when searching for ground effect of F1. Really great & awesome channel. Liked & subbed!😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I would love to see you turning a wire cord Walmart toy jet fighter airplane to a wireless RC jet airplane
hell yeah!!
How fast?
This is really helpful mate, you saved my life
Nice. Finally I will try it.
You just combined Arrma and Traxxas!??!?!?
how did you connect the gear to the servo? i'm working on a school project and I'm not sure how to connect the small servo shaft to a larger gear where it wont slip
The gear is mounted to a circular servo horn
Congratulations on showing how cool a father can be.
If the chronograph isnt working then ya might consider trying that thing where they measure speed with a high speed camera and those black and white bars of known size behind the shot then math it out from there
I think you’re located in the dfw metroplex, i am as well and own a Doppler style chronograph, a Labradar. If you’re interested in checking it out, let me know. It’s much more accurate than the shoot across style chronographs.
yes if he would have a Labrador next to him, it could work.
It doesn't work because u need a big and strong air pressure tank
Do the layer lines show up when using 3d printed molds out of the pla?
Yes
@@EngineeringAfterHours I figured but there was that slight hope somehow, thank ya
But anyway, to be on topic to the video, have you explored unsprung aero? That should quickly solve your squatting problem, plus it lets you run softer suspension all around for better mechanical grip at low speeds. Also, RIP GT car body and aero. Thanks for the video on DRS.
>24fps >Filming a small, fast moving object **pukes** Please at least use 30. I can give you camera settings to make any frame rate for any type of shot on most cameras look amazing. The main thing you gotta do is ignore the 180-degree rule and instead select a shutter speed in the 1/40th to 1/60th of a second range, and set shutter priority mode if you use auto exposure. You may need to buy an ND filter in order to shoot outdoors in bright situations after locking down your shutter speed like this, in which case, if you only want to spend money on ONE, get an ND16 filter, but if you buy TWO get an ND8 and an ND32. Also, avoid decimal framerates (23.976/.98, 29.97, 59.94) and instead use full frame rates, or at least never get them mixed up in post without properly re-encoding decimal to full. Lastly, avoid non-intra-frame codecs and instead use only all-intra-frame codecs such as ProRes or if you use a Sony camera XAVC S-I not plain S or X. They preserve motion accuracy better AND edit faster/easier on your PC.
what shutter speed would you recommend for 30, 50 or 60fps?
'Promosm' ❤️
You could put the 💩 back in the horse with that!
Plus im very exited for it
First
This is awesome
The record is up to 223mph now if I'm not mistaken, that is insane for a fricn little rc car 😳
Beside being already half-tracked, If the driving wheels are touching the ground just put a rubber band on a normal RC car wheel to a random pulley and call it a "tracked" vehicle you'll go faster. This thing is as much a tracked vehicle than a plane is a car while landing lmao
You should use an enclosed gearbox with grease..
0-60 In 0.8s on 6s with an 8s car. U don't need fans you need contact foams and sauce and it's a wrap czcams.com/video/90wTeisYThQ/video.htmlsi=OrinRZHEQfRuOAdC
How did you connect to the pix hawk did you use raspberry pi?
I need help with making mould
This totally lost the spirit of making a Lego car. This classes as a F
You could use a silicone brush to paint a first layer of the melted candy into the mold. That would let you fill in the details and minimize the air bubbles. The kind used for wood glue would be perfect. Although, you might need to get the candy a bit hotter so it flows into the details better.
How does this stuff get such few veiws
Great video! Best part is that you did this with your son!!
Thanks! My son is already talking about other build plans for a faster version.
@@EngineeringAfterHours having kids learning about what it takes to do iterative design at a young age is so good! If you guys felt comfortable sharing that father son relationship on the videos would add even more to your channel. I'm thinking about what what's inside channel did with Dan and Lincoln
I think It would be more interesting to see what you can do with just lego parts. Motors, wheels...
Congratulations! What an incredible job! My best speed deserved to be smoked by this level of engineering. 😄Time to make some proper rules!
Haha thanks...agreed on rules. There are probably a lot of things I did that should haha been "banned"
@@EngineeringAfterHours I agree. We should define some rules and make some sort of official "world's fastest lego car championship" which everyone can join as long as they don't break the rules.
Everyone is in the comments criticizing the fact that it’s “NoT aLl LegO”, yet none of these people have actually attempted an all Lego car that completes any part of this challenge. It isn’t possible. Even if you hunt down those old 100 dollar Lego buggy motors lol
needs to be all lego
Not possible
@@danielnunez3518 maybe not 80 kph, but with buwizz its already 60 kph. And all lego oofical I think is 35kph or higher. So it kinda is, when buwizz is considered lego.
