From the comments below, everyone loves Carroll O'Conner's performance in this. In reality, it's a mockery of General George S. Patton ( they have the "white A" with a blue background and a red circle ), or at least one of his subordinates. Patton was the American General the Nazis feared the most as being the most competent threat to their existence.

One of the great movies of all time. Solid story, good acting, realism and humour ... all in a controlled direction. NO CGI or idiots swinging from plane landing gear.

This movie hooked me on this great song (Burning Bridges) by The Mike Curb Cogregation.

They missed: "You're the communications officer ain't ya? You're supposed to be able to communicate." One of my favorite lines from the scene just before this one.

Got the movie and every time it's a laugh a minute, I'm 62 and Oddball,Crap game and the rest of Kelly's Barmy army is a classic, especially at the end with the Tiger Tank and her Commander 🪖🪖🪖🪖🪖

This movie. I don't know what it is about it, but it just sends me every time I see a scene. All of them are good, but Carol O'Conner should have gotten an Oscar for this. But no one tops Sutherland.

I first saw this movie one Saturday afternoon in the late 80s. Loved it. I went on to be a 19K, M1A1 Tanker. Best job I ever had.

Amazing cast of actors. They don't make them like this anymore.😢

That pontoon bridge doesn't look so bad. While there's a big hole over most of one spot in the deck the pontoons seem to be intact, fix the deck and it looks like they could cross.
