Thanks for capturing and sharing your journey with us. I have that experience too in 2014 when i was part of a team that was conducting Petroleum exploration Research. I spent 7 months at Isobo. Sailing through the ship is so slow and teaches one to patients in life

I would love to visit this museum someday,
It is a beautiful place to visit. When you reach Yaounde, endeavor to go there.
I went overseas and driving on the other side was not a cultural shock because I read a lot and I expected this.
I did read before going to SA but I read mostly about the provinces and tourist attractions. I think that is why I had the driving shock. I think regardless of how one reads, one is bound to face some shock.

that flushing button is mostly found at old buildings however, old flashing system i think it's better than the new flushing system...its more durable and reliable for public spaces

Short dressess are not part of our culture mam. The length of the dress is determined by the strictness of the school and or the circumstances of students. In areas where people don't have a lot of money you may find they can't afford a new dress every year as the girl grows. In other circumstances the students try be fashionable and make their dressess short and end up being sent home by the school for promoting nonsense. Other schools the teachers will undo the seams with scissors to make the dress long as punishment.
If you do say so, but I have seen some wearing short skirts even on TikTok videos, and they don't look poor. Regardless I wonder why the school authorities allow that length in school. Because there are other societies who also do not have enough money but their skirts are not this short. That is why I kind of thought it's something they are okay with and it is acceptable.
@@jabikaty2613 The schools don't allow it. It's against their rules. Even though each school sets their own rules they are usually very similar and strict. In fact the ever meddling South African Human Rights Commission are saying it's "too strict" and is infringing on student rights which in my opinion is just nonsense. As for the young girls that genuinely can't afford a new dress, you can't judge them until you actually understand that it's all they can afford especially in the current South African economy.
