    $89 that's so cheap for what you get! I wish i had a body of water near me, i mean, aside from the Pacific Ocean, but i think the beach is a little optimistic for this little guy. Looks like a lot of fun, though.

    I would love my Granite so much more if it had a center diff instead of that stupid, hard to tune, finnicky slipper clutch.

    Good video. Nice bash session. It really does seem to be a good truck overall. Yeah, I don't think those plastic spur gears are designed to handle a 3S brushless setup.

  • @Boogie_the_cat
    @Boogie_the_cat Před 14 hodinami

    Yes, i understand that RWD is fun as well, but what about those weirdos who claim that it's all about "skill" and 4wd is for "p*ssies" who can't drive, and that 4wd adds no actual functionality, and a "good" 2WD truck can go everywhere that a 4wd truck can go. I know that's BS with 1/1 scale trucks, but what is your opinion regarding scale driving? It sounds like arrogant nonsense to me, but the only time i drove 2wd was when my front diff was busted, so that isn't quite the same. PS: from the 3 Aussie RC channels i watch, i noticed that you say "stock standard" instead of the "bog standard" that we'd say on west coast USA. Is that because like the UK, "bog" means "toilet" ? I'm trying to aquire more world knowledge for my stand-up routine. I'm gonna be the next Carrot Top 😢

      In my humble opinioin, I prefer 4x4 trucks as I enjoy jumping and doing backlips etc. I sense a signifigant amount of control with 4x4 while manuvering midair. 2x4 not even close.

    Hey Saul when you said you'd had battery failures were they Zeee packs you were referring to and now because this one had held on you were Ok with them or were those failures packs of another brand? I have been thinking to try these but still holding off. I have the Yoowoo Graphene 4S 6500mah and they're great. I have a DXF gold graphene 9200mah that has been pretty good too. Not a huge fan of the Ovonic's I have the 6500 4S 80c soft pack and I don't rate it. Cheers.

    Nice. I had bags of fun with my 2wd Slash. It ended up with a bunch of aluminium parts. Traxxas Hoss Sledgehammer wheels and tyres. Max10 and 3660 4000kV brushless. It was pretty nuts. 96kph from memory. I took the motor and ESC out and they have been in a Rlaarlo 917 and a VRX Cobra. Searcing Cobra stuff was how I came about finding your channel. Again great music choices. Just need those Subs up.

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy Před 21 hodinou

      That's is a great result if it was still intended for off-road, 96kph is plenty I think🤘 Sounds like I would've been a sweet set-up! I am absolutely loving the couple of rwd cars I have now, just so different to drive but so fun. And I hope you got some helpful tips from my cobra vids, they are good cars if you don't go nuts with them😅 Thanks Jason, glad your enjoying the tuned, been fun making them!

  • @gillian9178
    @gillian9178 Před 22 hodinami

    Luv these Jumpshot 2wd trucks, here in the UK you can get the Brushless Flux versions for under 200 GB Pounds. Bonkers fast on 3s, I have the longer w/b ST Truggy & the even longer w/b SC Short Coarse version. I went with the lonnger w/b versions because I knew the MT version short w/b was a crazy wheelie machine, the other 2 Flux versions wheelie on command but not as much as the MT version. The rod ends coming off is a pain in the arse, re the spur 48 pitch gear. You can get an Integy steel spur gear, but need to order from the USA. Making it expensive with postage costs, you can fit Arrma 3s line 38 pitch / mod 0.8 spur gears along with the Arrma slipper pads. Another weak area on the brushed version if your going brushless, is the plastic gear that goes around the outside of the diff inside the gearbox. Simply change that gear out for the metal gear that comes stock in the brushless version, there pretty cheap at around 7 GB Pounds for the gear. Another reason I went with the longer chassis versions is you can move the battery box assembly further forward with the extra holes drilled in the chassis side plates, gets the weight even further foward. Even then I fit some extra weights at the front of the truck. Still a wheelie machine on 3s, but more enjoyable/driveable.

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy Před 21 hodinou

      Really appreciate all the tips! I did buy a new spur, the HSP ones fit perfect, still only mod0.5/48 pitch but I got the steel one so hopefully it is good enough steel and will last🤞 A mate of mine planed on doing the SCT chassis conversion on his but had other issues with it so fever could get it done but I absolutely want to do the conversion at some point, I love long chassis builds😁 Thanks for checking out the vid and again thanks for the tips👌

      I assume you mean to write dimensions and the top two braces as the bottom one is polycarbonate. But I didn't make them with any measurements because of the funny shapes I wanted, I just used a piece of cardboard thin enough to poke holes for the 8 mounting points and then drew 2 shapes that looked strong that fit in place. Sorry mate I'm not great with numbers so I just guesstimate most of the time.

  • @Boogie_the_cat
    @Boogie_the_cat Před 3 dny

    Thanks. I was looking at this online and everyone on the Arrma forums said it was pointless, but my center shaft got cut up by a rock pretty bad too, and it looked like an okay upgrade. If it fits the Granite. As to the rubber spray for body strength, I've heard two different things: some like it, but on Amazon reviews, a lot of people say it peels off easily and is cosmetic only. Maybe they didn't degrease their body first ? Maxx Slash is incredibly overpriced even for a Traxxas, and it handles poorly. Don't worry about not getting one. Worst name brand RC of 2024 award winner possibly. 😂

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy Před 3 dny

      It seems to be holding up in the Mojave but I did get one for my Kraton v2.5 which failed very quickly, it fell apart🤔 With the rubber spray, there is actually many different types, some for stopong leaks and others just a simple latex spray, not sure what they sell on Amazon but if you get the good quality leak stop rubber spray it definitely isn't cosmetic, makes a huge difference to body longevity. And yeah now I've seen a few Maxx Slash vids I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything even if it was $200aud cheaper😅

That was two months ago. I returned the truck and got a Granite. Still haven't received the MJX spares. Shipping from China shouldn't take that long, so i imagine they never shipped. Horizon Hobby shipped me a new servo when mine died, two day air-mail. Granite cost a lot more, but I'm happy to pay for a 2 year warranty that actually is worth a damn. Never again MJX

    Unfortunately the delay is in the ESC, at least in my experience the ESC needed changing before the delay went away... 😢 My steering never was straight either. Lots of fiddling with trim settings. I put 15mm hex spacers on the hubs to help some with handling. The extended hubs didn't lock well and i had to drill larger wheel holes... I lost steering linkage screws on its maiden run. I wanted to like it, but I'd break something every couple of runs. The a arm pins in the rear aren't captured, just press-fit, had to superglue one after a couple weeks. Ended up returning it, saved more money and got a 3s Granite. Nice video, basically the experience i had with mine, except the drive shaft\CVD pin in the rear. Mine stayed put. 😂

      Well I really appreciate you watching the video given your experience with this car😅🙏 But yes I did notice the esc was actually the issue when it came to the delays. Honestly I didn't even get to swapping the esc before I gave up on it because of all the little geometry issue and as you said the parts that aren't tough really are weak, the chassis is like 4mm and mine bent in so many spots😵 Like yourself I tried to get it to a point were it was enjoyable but it was not going to happen so I disassembled it and the parts are now spares for my good handling and tough enough Eachine EC30, HBXs and the old style MJX hyper go, oh yeah and the beautiful body is now a JJRC body🤣🤘

      The c rating is only how much power can be pulled from the lipo at once, won't effect the esc just means the esc has plenty of power to pull from the lipo. The only reason you can't go a bigger esc is because they physically won't fit in these small cars.

GoolRC escs are bad quality but 60a will not fit anyway. And a 15kg servo would almost definitely be standard size meaning 1/10, they will not fit you need a mini servo, the stock servo should work fine or a good drop in servo is the JX 1181MG servo. I use the original MJX Hyper GO wheels and they seem to do a good job.
