Shalom Aleichem, So I am a Christian that keeps Shabbat, Kosher (except for meat and dairy separation) I keep The Feast Days, And i want to follow some Jewish traditions. So if i do all of this am i considered a Jew? Or no because i believe in Jesus as the Messiah? The reason I ask is because some people have called me a Jew because I keep Shabbat and everything else. But I wouldn't really call myself a Jew, So what do you think? Also my mother is not Jewish.

Hi Rabbi, Let me start by telling you how much I enjoy you weekly commentaries. A friend from NY has been kind enough to share them with me, a Texan. I have only just begun to study Torah and I don’t know Hebrew. I read each day’s portion. When we get to Va’era I will have completed the Torah once. This is about last weeks Parsha. I was wondering if you would mind answering a question for me. How could it be interpreted that Rebecca was only three when she first met Isaac. Gen 24:59 - 67 is the most romantic verses in the Torah. It was love at first site. At Rebecca's first site she couldn't wait to get off the horse. Putting on her veil was an afterthought. And Isaac so anxious to meet her. He couldn’t stay home. He traveled towards them and prayed. I know there is the thing about the time till child birth, etc. My second question is how come there so little commentary on how beautiful and romantic this portion is. It seems equally important as the candles and wells. After all it is speaking of a deep love a husband has for his wife. I actually got teary eyed like at a sappy movie when I first read it. And Isaac brought her to the tent of Sarah his mother, and he took Rebecca, and she became his wife, and he loved her. And Isaac was comforted for [the loss of] his mother. I don't recall any other place where it talks about a man loving his wife. Thank you, Debra
