How to strip silicone wrapped 500?
Inspired by your effort I was gonna modify my SF Tactician but after measuring it wall at 1.69mm I realised that after taking out .1.4mm needed to fit 18650 it leaves 0.29mm remanding tube thickness.. I guess they don't make them as they used to.. Good vid by the way..!!
I'm sorry to hear that, but there is 2 good things I've found out since this video. 1 is that you can buy or make custom lights at lighthound. Com if I recall it's been a few years, and if you have a lathe, you could just make a new cap, and tube to thread the head in to. Its a good little side project that you maybe will enjoy.
All good ..!! 16650 fits perfectly.. :)

How do you will charge the new battery 🔋? And what will be the new battery size or model ?
Thanks brother..
Is that what they are saying now? You are in the US though arent you? Ill have to dig into this UK ban thing.
Whats the purpose of this waste of time video...? nutten to see here folks move right along.
With that much air in it, you are way way past due with needing to just rebuild that pump by replacing the seals and the check valves. My pre 1984 Excello 1/2-4 inch sets no longer make oil spots in my trucks & gang boxes. I am not sure if I can still get the old pre Textron rebuild kits, but, man oh man is it ever nice to have hydraulics that don't pee jack oil all over the place. I pulled an old one out of storage that had been rebuilt and kind of lost for about 15 or 20 years. It spit some fluid out the vent in the back when we released the pressure after punching a hole. We cleaned it up really well. I just checked it and it ain't leaking. It had just enough pressure in it to push a little fluid past the main cylinder seal. Keep that valve OPEN! That one still has all the hose and fitting caps on it too!!! It was my personal KO set, so it was very well cared for.
Hi.Can you advise if anybody still supplies this kit for me in the UK? Thanks a lot Regards Tom

Yeah it was. I stopped uploading for a while and tried some other platforms. What I need to do is a better job at lighting the video. To be fair I never thought this would be a watched vid. Ps. Love the name brother. I'm a fan of the ice cold little demons my self.
@@tek4 not to disappoint, but I'm an anesthesiologist - hence the name - but I do get a laugh when the name "whips" up a little excitement! in others ;)
My mistake. But I do have to say the history of your profession is so very interesting and how we get to that safe ish point we are at now 🤯

Very very much, and to see someone who has lost there b12 by ignoring the risks associated with such exposure by repeated dosing over even as short as a month is scary and sad.
If I take the back thread end cap off of my 767 there is a threaded plug underneath/inside that says "fill port" stamped on it
Not all have that and you need to retract the piston anyway. What I'm showing is a extremely example of one whos never been filled and was told by the guy who gave it to me, "to use the tiny funnel threw the release nob to fill it up" he had no idea of the real way and I figured inwould throw something up for those who had a similarly abused and empty pump.
A lot of mine are around 40-50 years old, and I rebuilt the pumps & reservoir cylinders with kits from Greenlee. Those have a domed screw inside the cylinder housing that you remove to fill them with oil. There is shoulder cut into the fill hole that holds a little O ring. We always wiped the inside of that house down so it was really clean poured oil in them and worked the pump until the air bubbles stopped coming out, dumped out the excess oil and put the fill screw back in, with a new Viton O ring. I love'em when they don't leak & piss all oil over everything. I rebuild them when they do that.
How do u get it to rotate my rotor part wont rotate
Whats going on with yours, is it rear wheel drive and is it in n?
Thx for the post brotha!
Cool
Yeah... essentially useless to me, I was hoping to see details of how tot remove parts... not rapid, unexplained shots of stabbing at something I could not see, for a reason not explained, with what looked like an array of picks, awls, screwdrivers, dykes, pliers... etc. 3 I can adjust playback speed to speed through portions I'm not interested in.... but even operating playback speed at 0.25 normal won't let me clearly see what you are doing , and certainly won't restore the missing audio of your speeded up parts. An audio track could help supplement shots where detail is lost because of taking shots with wide angle lens from far away.
Well, to be fair your critique is deserved and I did a poor job on this video. Out if curiosity, should I delete it? Does it even have a slight value?
@@tek4 I wouldn't delete it, but, you mentioned in another comment maybe making a long form version.... was the fast speed done in-camera, or do you have a long version, for which you speeded up some portions in post for the video you posted. I would very much like to see a long version. Because I bought one of these lathes at an estate sale... only to find that the belt is shredded. And that the manual does not at all address changing the belt.
@@ssn608 unfortunately due to the age of the video the phone i shot this on. Is no longer working and I don't have any backups of it. As far as the belt, you should be able to find one that would be close to accurate and not need to go threw the same steps of a kit I found on ebay. The kit changed the gear ratio and speed of the lathe making a slower speed but higher torque, and I should redo the parts I can with the lathe. I currently have it open on my bench again because the board has had another break in it, and I need to figure out a third or fourth different repair to it. I'm not sure how its still running lol. But I will make an attempt at updating this video and making lore information about the belt replacement process.

So you get bored in your car and decide to break down a battery in the car as well? Steering wheel desk, in a parking lot? Anyone look at you super funny as they walk by?
You will be amazed at what you can do if you act like you belong doing that there. Its quite insane to realize it, but if you do you, with authority, people don't question. I've done far sketchier stuff in worse situations with no problems, so having something to keep my ass busy and make a video for the sake of trying to make videos again was the idea. Question assuming you my friend have read this far, wanna see a vid of my crimping and technique using various types and styles of power connectors?
So much for this video being useful. High-speeds through the motor adjustment, which is the only part I wanted to see ☹️

Milwaukee is making batteries now that dont have the seam in them in the center of the top so you cant take them apart like this.. and this is probaly why lol, you could rebuild your own batteries. Save! The old style ones if you have them and wana risk doing this!. I just bought a couple kits from hd the other day and all the m12 batteries have changed and are now sealed up all the way.
I need to get one to experiment with cause if they are manufactured, then can be disassembled. Maybe it will require cutting and adding some sort of retaining clip modification but I'm excited to dig in. If one fails on ya, please send it my way and we will see if we can get it all fixed up
Shame kit or seller not available now 🙁
Screwdriver handle are also too small.
Cut the wire into sticks. put them in the freezer and slam it down on driveway. It shatters the insulation

I live here, it's mostliky a scalloper, if it had nets it was a dragger, its nice when the bridge works but when it breaks we have to wait months because the parts are non existent so they need to be remanufactured, and expensive its a pain if you have someplace to go just bang a u'ey and go around to coggsall bridge
Great tutorial! Got any tips to throw I’m building a mosfet with a TC chip that both would connect to a single battery, would there an extension applicable for this or would the only option have to be soldering on on the metal clip ?
First, thank you for your kind words. It means a lot to me in this 2020 end of the world times were at. So there are methods such as socket connections, crimps, or a conductive epoxy. In my personal experience the epoxy has much more resistance then the rest if the methods, and more resistance means more heat to pass a amount of current. Sockets use a spring force to hold the connection and can build up a oxide layer, crimps as well build up oxides. This would again lead to failure due to excessive temp and resistances. Soldering has some benefits that are often overlooked for cheaper or less effort methods. (Soldering is already really inexpensive and the effort is not as much as people assume) it covers the direct connection from oxide formation, using a rosin or flux, cleans the metallic parts not only allowing a super tight seal but a direct metal to metal connection the all the other methods dont include. It's also stable, long lasting, strong, and able to carry higher temps then the melting point of the solder by having the wire act as a heat sink, tho this is not much and the soldering iron easily handles the few degrees more it takes. A cheap iron is fine to do our modding work and some hobby stores such as the sellouts at a lobby store (I don't support this establishment but it is a useful country wide example) have them with solder as low as 5 to 10 dollars. I like to reccomend a good silver bearing solder as lead exposure in vapor from melting and possible other scenarios give me pause, and if not on the modern connector are fine. Back in 2010 when I built my first mod, I felt it was a proper way to go. If you need or want help, I can drop my email to you, or make a better explanation in a follow up video. I really need to get back on track but last few years it's been hard to have any recording or editing equipment as in some videos its show I have been traveling the country for my work.

Proto putty is a awesome work, but my expirments with making it have yeilded questionable results with his I tried. You are correct however and maybe I should buy a batch. Thank you
Looking good but why tge see through lid? Why not use the lid that came with it
That is because as the resin, silicone mold material or any thick liquid releases gas, bubbles occur and you use the second valve to re pressurise the pot slightly. This pops most of the gas bubbles by shrinking them and brings the resin back below the cup container lip preventing waste from over flow. Thicker stuff or soapy stuff will do this.
Also for pressure casting the lid is used. The vacuum degassing the acrylic is a better o0tiom. Scott, I went to find you on Facebook to send your daughter some more plastic blanks to turn on her mini lathe but couldn't pull you up. I hope we're still friends and cool cause I like ya bud. Rob Tek
