Toro 826 Toro 824 Snowblower Cold Starts

With a headset, I was in Linear FOV I believe. Next we'll try Wide to capture more of the controls. I'm trying to avoid using SuperWide to avoid the "fishbowl" look to the video.

      i've never had to replaced a spring in one. get out the rust with either MMO, ATF or penetrating oil. Then add more tension, you notch the inner spool (I use a soldering iron to melt it) which allows the rope to spin in the recoil housing.

    I am currently restoring my ‘76 SS, and absolutely loved your video! Thank you for the video. Do you have any recommendations for replacing fuel tank ? I currently have a 12 gallon sitting on top of the floor under the splash well like yours, but wanted to get a bigger tank. I saw one from Moeller, 18 gallon belly shape that can go below deck. I believe the demensions fit.

    • @classiccat7403
      @classiccat7403 Před 4 měsíci

      Thank you and Good luck with your restore! Regarding fuel tanks, I'm not a fan of belly tanks unless you can access them (and remove ) without tearing apart the deck. Over in the starcraft section of iboats (or facebook), you can search (or ask) what folks recommend but usually it requires them to elevate the deck to accommodate the tank and connections. I personally like being able to pop the tank out if I need to fully drain/service, etc.

    Hey man, I want to congratulate you on this awesome restomod you did on a lovely StarCraft ! May I ask, did you happen to have 3 (almost entirely) vertical holes on both sides of the hull, around where the seats would have been originally for the open deck area, just before the console starts? I'm asking because I just bought a StarCraft Offshore, which seems identical to yours and there are 3 holes just above the "spray rails" on both sides of mine, but the guy removed everything up front at the bow, so I don't have any ideas as to what they could've been for. I'll be patching them, but I like to know why/how something exists xD blame my OCD!

    Very impressive work on the old Toro, I have a question, I have a 1980 Toro 11/32 snowblower that has the pivot style scraper blade and I was wondering how do you properly adjust the skid Shoes on these machines to get the proper ground clearance?

    • @classiccat7403
      @classiccat7403 Před rokem

      Thanks Aaron! It really depends on the surface you're blowing snow on. generally even with the spring-loaded scraper,1.)I loosen the shoe bolts, 2.) lift the bucket and place a "spacer" on the ground where the scraper (bottomed out on the stopper) touches the spacer. double check that the spacer isn't retracting from the weight...if it does, you may have to relieve some of the weight with a helper. 3) tighten the shoe bolts. If i'm blowing snow on my smooth driveway, i use 1/8" steel stock. If clearing my backyard with alot of topography, i'll use a piece of 3/4" plywood for the height spacer.

      Thank you Hank! Good luck with your restoration! I hated polishing at the time however after a few seasons of use, I'm very glad I did it...zero stress about losing paint to a shady river dock!
