Hi João, I watched the whole video and I completely understand this pressure to get stuff done. One thing that REALLY helped me was Fasting (eating 1x a day) or a meat + vegetables diet. Sounds like bullsht but let me explain from a book I've read. Fasting puts the body into a state of alert (adrenaline, a hormone that increases attention). It regulates insulin, so you don't have glucose spikes and you practically have hyper-focus power. (in practice, cures ADHD)

Hey there! I'm on a totally different place, personally, because I pretty much have no coding experience, however I believe I can reach some sort of agreement between my employer and I in order for me to dedicate some time to learn to code and develop a few apps that the company will find extremely useful. This company has a great work environment and they foster personal and professional development as one of their core values, which is awesome and is what will probably allow me to reach this agreement. I have been thinking about how I want to approach this with my supervisor, since the review is in a few days/weeks. I've been thinking about asking for an extra salary increase related to my commitment to the company, and justifying it as the money that will allow me in hopefully a period of 1-2 months to take a few professional courses in C# and be able to start creating the framework for these apps, and then the following 1-2 months after that will probably be continuous development cycles related to usability, bugs, etc. It's not a complicated application at all, at least in theory, but I will need to learn to use our software's API too. What I've really been giving a lot of thought to is the idea of later converting this software into a general integration, same as the other integrations that they use, and charging a monthly fee for its service and my support, same as the other integrations that they pay for. And even adding it to this software's list of available integrations for any company to use, but that's just me being a little too hopeful probably. Anyway I'm glad this video popped into my homepage, thanks!

Life isn't about work. Rather, work is only a means so we can provide for a family and use the remaining time to have as much fun w friends as possible. Working, friendship and fun used to be one activity (hunting, fishing, crafting). Don't feel bad for enjoying life. We were designed to be constantly talking and hanging with friends and family. Never in our evolution were we rewarded for intense isolation and introversion.

10K a month is supposed to be net PROFITS. And Business PROFITS = gross revenue minus something that you'd pay all employees of the same level, including the actual work done by yourself (if you were to hire someone doing that for you) That would be 10k from actual business, not self-employment.
