Twenty years from that point we don't have intelligent battle robots, but we got here in Ukraine something that looks like it, a kamikaze drones
55:30 That guy's tache holy moly
45:48 you can buy an AK for £60? Oh my god that’s disgusting… where?
He's firing blanks at that van
It was Hawai'i, not Tahiti, where Cpt Cook was murdered. And it was due to his ship needing too many supplies, lack of language and cultural understanding, and escalating petty theft which Cook attempted to end with taking a chief hostage.
The purpose of the gun - deterant.
Bet Clarkson wouldn`t walk barefoot in NY these days treading in all that human excrement Nah !
Jeremy Clarkson is an absolute legend legend 🙌 👏
Today we have overstimulation and fake news. Today I'm watching TV to see how to avoid it.
You can tell this was made in the early 2000's because Clarkson has white teeth
RIP charles babbage, you would've loved kickstarter and gofundme
They forgot about the washing machine and aircondition. As technologies that changed the world.
'The green hornet' along with some other amazing mechanical computers were ordered to be destroyed 😢
It is extremely tiresome to see yet another claim that Logie Baird "invented" the television. His contraption bears as much resemblance to the TV sets sold in their billions as a DaVinci drawing bears to a Sikorski helicopter. The British really are tedious in their endless self-delusions. No doubt if Clarkson were French he'd be claiming Jules Verne "invented" manned spaceflight.
Watching this on my mobile phone in 2024 Thats stores countess music files Pictures Books From which I can check my bank. Review my diary Book flights all over the world Book hotels anywhere Speak face to face with my girlfriend 20 miles away Amazing this all happened in my lifetime being born in 62 what changes I've seen amazing
bugged me he didnt put a seat belt on when he was recycling the TV & Video
38:21 this works, btw. If you're flying across the Pond, get upgraded
I'd like to see an update made of this, to include smart phones.
35:12 sorry Jezza, that's nightmare fuel
I wonder how many of today's youth will be able to survive if at any point in time if the silicone world crashes... Too much tech is a dangerous thing
I am absolutely gob smacked at the progress done in AI and robotics in 20 years. I went and had an intellectual human-like conversation with chatgpt after the segment from this documentary where Clarkson chats with that stupid bot. It's astonishing and frightening. And the auto-hoovers nowadays create a map, including a height map, of the floorplan with all obstacles and efficiently navigate the environment whilst doing a job and knowing where it needs to dock and unload afterwards. Amazing
I have a friend in Australia who elicited a poem about my life from a ChatGTP type bot, using a few prompts he’d derived from chatting with me for a couple of years. He sent it to me. It was shockingly accurate. Really. I wanted to delete it, because it wasn’t human, but you couldn’t tell it wasn’t. And this is the cooking version, free on your connected devices. The cutting edge version is going to be orders of magnitude better.
12:58 dude definitely got eaten
I think this definitely leaves out a lot on the history end, especially the "what happened after" stuff. For Baird: He actually ended up getting funded, ended up prototyping the first 3DTV and the first standard that would have been equivalent to 1080i, and a proper color standard. I think CBS was even funding him as they were trying to develop a hybrid mechanical/electric color set (basically there would be a spinning color wheel in front of a CRT to provide color signals). For Farnsworth: He actually had a LOT going on, even still with TV after RCA made their "own system". His patent situation was actually SUPER sticky for RCA for nearly a decade with legal issues. He ended up forcing RCA to license his 1927 CRT patent in the late 30s, and they had to pay him over $1M in that time's dollar. His company ended up getting bought by ITT in the early 50s and funded his Nuclear Fusion research (along with other projects like what eventually became the base radar tracking system for modern air traffic control) for 18 years, which then got taken over by Brigham Young University, and then by a private company that Farnsworth founded (which then imploded).
My dun keeps a snide insults of America 😂
Swear British humor is lit, deadpan at its best…
3 men, 3 beards!😂😂
He thinks that Britain could build the titanic or Hindenburg when they can barely make a car 😂
English narrators go hard period, like my dun Sir David Attenborough
I live in an area where we often get military jets flying overhead, their engines roaring loud. I like to imagine what Whittle would think if he could look up and see them flying now, sort of like what Doctor Who did with Van Gogh. Sure, he lived to see incredible inventions, but even in the past thirty years the changes have been quite incredible. Edited for grammar.
Wernstrom!
52:23 this guy was spot on
43:32 I almost shot cereal out of my nose 😂😂😂
Found this in 2024!
42:50 The Soviets already had a "simple and reliable submachine-gun". What Nikolay Kalashnikov wanted to create was a modern, cheap to produce assault rifle. By taking inspiration from other guns (as all gun designers do), he designed what we know now as the AK-47. But, at first, it wasn't reliable, and once it became reliable, it certainly wasn't cheap. The Soviets wanted to build the AK with stamped sheet metal. However, they did not yet have the tecnical knowledge to do so dependably. So, they decided to machine them out of blocks of steel instead, which was expensive and made the gun heavier. Eventually, they did get it all sorted out and the AKM became the most recognizable gun on the planet. We call anything that looks like it "AK-47". But, in point of fact, it is extremely rare for us to see one. There are AK-74s, AK-101s, Egyptian AKs, Hungarian AKs, Chinese, North Korean, homemade Pakistani AKs, AKs made from parts' kits... There are more AK variants than favours of ice-cream.
The old man checking the groupings while they kept cutting to someone aiming downrange had me forging a new ass-groove in my chair, lol
50:36-50:40 😂😂
The brits never miss a chance to flatter themselves
Quantum computers are what normal computers were back in the 50s and 60s. absolutely massive and required the space of a big room and give it 40 years and quantum computers will be in everyone's homes
Red light camera and speed camera are all so computers as well ?
What that sound track at 4:57 ?
The lady operator was the original only fans.
Okay, so I'm watching this in 2024 and realize that the 20 years prediction before A.I becomes a potential danger is pretty spot on. I mean, there are scammers today that make use of A.I to trick us into giving money when they steal the voice of a real person. And it's probably just the tip of the iceberg...
ХАХАХАХАХАХХААХАХАХАХА Я БЫЛ НА ЭТОМ МАТЧЕ
Only the ignorant believe guns are bad. They don't do anything bad without the input from a criminal.
I never expected the Fight Club Dust Brothers score to show up here.
Finally why would ever want to speak English with mastiff upper lip❤❤🎉🎉haha
Redo, but from perspective of pilot and not being Jeremy, at least not completely just the good bits and so on and so forth but Yes, LA really is that silly.
5:50 lol
Best documentaries I've seen thus far.
The gun is james bond main weapon Thats why he is so famous in the movie industry!!!
I remember having to use an operator to place a domestic call as late as the 1970’s in Southern Africa.😂❤.
