@juliannazinchenko I've watched a handful of CZcams tutorials on how to sew a Hong Kong finished seam allowance. Your tutorial in all aspects is the best I've seen! Two options for the Hong Kong finish; calm, simple speaking without sounding like you're talking to a child; great colors for thread, garment fabric, and bias tape; great use of regular focal distance and zoomed in to illustrate 'stitch in the ditch'. This is the first of your CZcams videos I've watched and liked, and I am sure it won't be the last! Brava!

That was as perceptive as it was comprehensive. Even as a straight male, I couldn't help but notice the critical role the costuming played in this underrated film. Your reference to the social norms during WWII reminded me of an ex GF. She definitely used her appearance to make a statement - to the point she tattooed nylon seam lines on the back of her legs. I had recommended against it. As usual, she never listened to anything I said, and always seem to know what she was doing. She pulled it off, but she had the benefit of being young and ridiculously beautiful (truly) so people didn't care all that much. (And like Emily, she acted like she didn't care how she looked. But nothing could have been further from the truth!) I haven't seen her in 20 years. I wonder if she can still pull it off? Anyway, your essay was nicely put together, so to speak.
