    Great video, but not all machines, obviously V2, do not respond in the same way. So in your opinion, considering my need to make two cappuccinos in the morning and then two coffees, how should I set the machine? Steam mode first and then switch to coffee mode? (by the way, in your opinion, to switch from one mode to another, do you have to turn off the machine or can it be done with the machine on?) Thanks and congratulations, hoping for your response/consideration.

    What are the differences between v1 and 2? How do I know which version I have? I have had it for over 2 years now. Are the settings between 1 and 2 the same regarding brew or steam mode? When I set it to 0 on the right side I have a steam solid bar at 1 bar. Isn’t the 0 steam mode? I’m a bit confused since I’ve had it set on 1 since I bought it and the bar has been on 0,5 bar when idle before extraction. After that it will go up to 1,5 bar .

    • @bunbunespresso8124
      @bunbunespresso8124 Před 2 lety

      Hi @Morning Coffee, thanks for watching. The steam pressure will not always be at 0.5 bar in Coffee mode. You can actually "wake" the machine to spike its steam pressure by lifting and lowering the lever. The Coffee mode in V2 basically turns off the heating element when you brew coffee (when lever is lifted) to reduce risk of overheating. You can observe that in my video that steam pressure is down when brew lever is up and vice-versa.

    • @ngdilin

    Great video! I have a question though. At 1.16 CoffeeX mode, the temperature pilot light is blinking. I observed the same for mine too. Should we start the brewing at 0,6 bar steam pressure to avoid this? Thank you.

    • @bunbunespresso8124
      @bunbunespresso8124 Před 2 lety

      Thanks for watching @ngdilin. 🙂 My guess is that - since the machine is delivering more water (no puck resistance) for this video test, and also in "coffee xmode" (whereby heating element is off during brewing), this causes detection of temp difference between the 2 temp probes, therefore resulting in the blinking temp pilot light. But I don't think the flashing light in your first or second brew will screw up your coffee. You can try brewing at 0,6 bar steam or higher to experiment with it. Have fun & cheers!

    • @ngdilin

    Thanks for the video. The temperature setting for me is still a mystery. Never ever got the brewing temp down to 90° when setting is on 0. I have everything between 93 an 97°. Despite coffee brewing is fine. No complains. Anybody has a tip how to handle the temperature problem? Greetings from Zurich, Switzerland

      Thanks for watching! Was the machine in Xmode Coffee (0) when you tested? I think that the temperature setting on 0 will range between 87°-93°, optimised at 90°.

      @bunbunespresso8124 Před 2 lety

      I'm no expert to determine if it's a sensor fault. But u may try to get the temperature to stabilise first (make the machine idle awhile) before testing out again.

    • @morningcoffee1
      @morningcoffee1 Před 2 lety

      When you turn on the machine, leave it for 30 to 35 minutes, then start using it after that. The temperature should be stable at your desired setting

    Great video mate. Glad somebody put a light on v2 finally. I’ve purchased Lelit MaraX V2 yesterday evening(not delivered yet). Still not sure how to feel about the missing pure HX setting is gone. Do you think the new software works better ?

    • @bunbunespresso8124
      @bunbunespresso8124 Před 2 lety

      Congrats and thanks for the kind words mate! I'm not sure who would buy the MaraX but not use its smart coffee priority mode that it's intended for, and to use the traditional uncontrolled HX mode. Therefore, the new software in V2 to remove the pure HX setting is a practical and more useful one in my opinion. I doubt anyone would miss the pure uncontrolled HX mode.

I was reading/choosing a coffee machine and a grinder about 2 years before I pull a shot on Lelit MaraX and in the end I was kind of confused with the new “0 Xmode”. Thanks to you now getting even more anxious on delivery of that beauty :-)

      Hii.. just want to ask. In prev version (v1) this machine when we used coffee priority (X mode) can boost steam pressure after brewing coffee or not?

    • @bunbunespresso8124
      @bunbunespresso8124 Před 2 lety

      Hi, I believe it's possible. U can try lifting the brew lever for few seconds and lowering it to see if there is any increase in steam pressure.

    Thanks for this vid for the v2. I am wondering what's the major difference of the L58E group used here vesus the traditional E61? Thanks.

    • @bunbunespresso8124
      @bunbunespresso8124 Před 2 lety

      Thanks for watching. The Mara X group head is E61 but Lelit now calls it L58E group. It is typically similar using 58mm portafilter and accessories, but L58E group has a dedicated spare part kit by Lelit. I believe it is for the pre-infusion method which Mara X has to differentiate themselves from other standard E61.

    Brilliant vid, thank you! I have a MaraX V1. I want to buy the gicar for V2, could you possibly open yours up and let me know what exact software version is on the label on your gicar electronic card for me? Apparently it is V1.9 of software (confusingly when it for the V2 machine!). Thanks in advance!

    • @bunbunespresso8124
      @bunbunespresso8124 Před 2 lety

      Hi. Yes, V1 and V2 have different modes. I use Brew (1), Temp (0) in my V2 MaraX. Mode 1 is basically the same (smart HX) for both V1 & V2. Mode 0 (used to be Steam mode = classic HX in V1) is gone and is now pure coffee mode with no steam priority / boost, it works like a single boiler under this mode in V2 which means even better temperature stability if you don't do milk drinks.

      @ianfebriyanto Před 2 lety

      @@bunbunespresso8124 oh, I see. can you steaming and brewing at same time on your current setting ( brew '1', temp '0') ? in some others video, the steam pressure boost up after brewing (almost reach 2.75 bar I guess), he just simulate cafe situation, brew coffee back-to-back in a row, 2 espresso and 2 latte.

    hi bun bun I would count the seconds when starting the extraction and aim for around 25-30s for 1:2 ratio with the MaraX. I would recommend setting the grind coarser so the shot is extracted faster.
