Great video. I remember Burnout 3 so fondly and was just so much dumb fun. When I returned to gaming after not having a console for many years, I excitedly bought burnout paradise and boy was I disappointed. It just lacked that energy for me. Would have loved a classic mode for the game or something like that. I like the open world for just mucking around but didn’t care for it in the missions.

I really hated traffic checking it made racing feel so much less dangerous when you can just ignore half of it.

Great video. I really enjoyed it. I also used to hate that emo, Pope rock stuff from the early 2000's. But damn, nostalgia is a powerful feeling lol.

Burnout 3, revenge and paradise. I bought burnout paradise so many times 360,ps3,ps4,Xbox series S, and switch. If I decide get a ps5 in the future I’ll probably get it for that too

Some of the people that worked on the Burnout franchise founded a small studio called Three Fields Entertainment once EA gave the Need For Speed license to Criterion and Ghost Games. Their game, Dangerous Driving, is a spiritual successor to the Burnout games and has a lot of similar mechanics. It definitely scratches that Burnout itch it you're looking for something more recent. It came out on PS4.

I have a lot of good memories of 3. Logged probably hundreds of hours on it both solo and multiplayer with one of my friends. When the video reached a later entry in the series and you said it was the peak, you got my attention for sure. I'd pretty much tuned out after I was done with 3, so I never heard of any of the games after that until a couple years ago. It's really cool to hear that there was basically a successor to 3. I'm not a fan of the era-specific visuals, but if it's otherwise an upgrade in most regards then I'd definitely like to try it one day. Crash mode is super important to me, so maybe I'd consider it to be the seasoning on the steak rather than the mashed potatoes. The racing is good for sure, but I don't think the game would have captivated me nearly as much without the dedicated crash mode. Great review! I hope there's more good content from you to come.

in burnout paradise if you abuse mark man events or stunts or road rage, the requirment for completing the next events get insane to a point.

Now if only people would stop crying about making every game super-realistic (which completely misses the point of games) and go back to fictional-type content, like the countless fictional vehicle designs that exist in the ether. People always say there's no market for Burnout-type games anymore, yet no one will make a game and try.

burnout revenge is the best one you got to play it on ps2

There is actually a good Burnout style game on the DS called _Sideswiped,_ but it costs an arm and a leg to buy the cartridge alone.

To be fair to the original Burnout, there weren't really any games like it when it came out. It was unique for the time, nobody was doing that kind of boost meter where you gain boost the closer you get to danger. Whereas other racing games gave you no reason to drive against traffic and encouraged you not to, this game literally did the opposite, and it was one of the first of its kind. It's dull by today's standards and in comparison to even the following Burnout titles, and it was absolutely more of a niche title when it came out, but it was unique and interesting for its time.

Congrats on this video blowing up! It randomly appeared in my feed, so i gave it a shot. Good production all around! As for the Burnout games, I still put 3 at the top. Revenge is right up there also, but I ultimately feel like traffic checking makes the game a little bit too easy. Definitely more of a power fantasy tho. I'd say it really comes down to how much sense of accomplishment do you want from progressing? Burnout 3 provides than more than Revenge does. Also, if you never checked them out, a few developers from the Burnout series started their own studio and made a few Not-Burnout games. Danger Zone 1 and 2 are basically just crash mode, and Dangerous Driving is the racing. They aren't bad, but they definitely feel a little more budget than the real games.

Revenge was great, but it didn't really do anything new. It felt like the promise of Burnout 3 fulfilled. In retrospect that's a good thing, but at the time it just felt like more of the same. And while Paradise addressed this issue directly, it went too far and lost some of that personality and magic. It's a real shame Paradise never received a direct sequel, it really could have been something special.

Burnout and Burnout2 before EA were truly original feeling arcadey racers. I do really like BO3 Takedown but its presentation just feels way to Americanised, much preferred the original two games presentation over the later ones, just my opinion. Also 4:3 ratio / 16:9 options are worth considering 🏁👍😎

First of all, I did the opposite and bought Burnout Crash right after watching your video (It's at 0.94€ atm on XB), because I thought it deserved a chance. And as for my top three, I go with Paradise first, Revenge and maybe Burnout 3.

Burnout 2 is the go to for me. Good crash physics without eye-bleeding effects. A dozen unique cars instead of 100 barely distinguishable ones. Dynamic soundtrack, no pop punk garbage.

CZcams algorithm showed me this video. Was just thinking about Burnout recently too. I didn't play every burnout game growing up. I played 2, legends, dominator, and paradise. I missed out the best versions 3 and revenge. One of these days I'll check them out. Of the titles I have played, Legends was my favorite. It was constantly in rotation of regularly played games on my PSP.

My favorite was crash mode in Burnout 2 on the X Box. It had twice as many crash scenarios as the other versions. The crash mode in Burnout 3 had you scoring by collection floating gold coins and not from the crash. Too much Mario. I never tried any of the others. I was in to the Sim Racing programs on a PC with wheel and pedals so arcade races were not interesting to me.

My only experience with burnout is playing 3 at my friends house as a kid and owning paradise on the ps3. So cool to see all the games compared like this. I will definitely check out 2 and revenge when I can

Revenge is still fun, but its gameplay is definitely a step backward from BO3. Takedowns were a big upgrade, but in Revenge constantly shunting anything driving in the same direction and rewarding you as much as driving in the wrong lane, which has way more risk and takes much more skill is just imbalanced and takes at least half the skill out of the game. It’s a great diversionary option, like if they had a specific specialty vehicle with special missions during the singleplayer, but to have that the entire game is just devolving the gameplay rather than enhancing long term. That’s why it didn’t return in Paradise.

Absolutely stellar video my man. Back in the day, I didn't much care for racing games, but Burnout Revenge completely changed my view of them forever. The sheer rush that came along with playing the crash mode is a feeling that'll stick with me as long as I live. Thank you for giving the Burnout series an honest, and sincere look. Can't wait to see what else this channel has in store.

The thing about Revenge is it improve A LOT but really cut the energy/style is as if the current Deadpool was dead serious or completely silent sure looks amazing but something’s missing it’s just like Megamind said (the good one): What’s the difference!? -PRESENTATION!!!!!

for me Paradise was the best of all. i loved it they solved the Navigation Problem of open world racing games

I worked in Gamestation for years. Never knew Dominator came out in ps2! We must of not got many copies in. I'll have to find this now! For me, it will flip between Burnout 2 & 3 for top place with revenge close behind. I wish paradise had an option to turn off the open world. Having to restart the track, by driving the map did my head in. (hopefully this has been fixed in an update)

I grew up with Burnout Revenge on 360 and it shaped my taste in music along with my dad's old CD collection lol. Still play it to this day and always happy to see somebody talking about these relics. I even started collecting the CDs from the soundtrack lol. They really truly don't make these anymore

I loved the video. About Burnout 3, devs give you the option to turn off Dj Atomica, on the Audio Settings.

Traffic checking was fun, especially in Crash and Traffic Attack but it destroys the game balance in races by turning the outgoing lanes into mostly safe areas because aside from larger traffic you won't have to worry about rear ending traffic. This means you can farm boost in the oncoming lanes then switch to outgoing as soon as any oncoming traffic comes with minimal risk. Also if you like Burnout, check out the games by Three Fields Entertainment. They're ex Criterion devs who worked on various Burnout games and their games carry on the series spiritually now that Criterion has been chained to Need For Speed and support duty at EA. Their games include: Dangerous Golf: Crash mode but you're putting explosive golf balls to wreck rooms. Danger Zone: Crash mode in a crash test zone. Danger Zone 2: A mix of B3 and BRevenge Crash mode set of streets and highways Dangerous Driving: A mix of Burnout 2, 3 and Revenge racing modes. Wreckreation: Upcoming game. Not alot known about it but the only trailer teases something like Burnout mixed with Trackmania.

Both Conduit games were good and i really enjoyed my time with them. Like every Wii FPS, the full enjoyment and fluidity with the controls come from carefully tweaking the sensitivity and dead zone settings (Metroid Prime Trilogy NEEDS to be on "Advanced") and once you do, the Wiimote setup with IR targeting becomes this incredible fusion of FPS and Light Gun gameplay that honestly, once setup correctly, i think out does dual sticks on a traditional controller. My best buddy and i played Conduit and 2 online but once Goldeneye (2010) came out, we played it SO much, got to top 100 online and i ended up playing it for 10 years, don't miss that one, there are custom servers and a discord setup for it now so it's really not dead, same with Conduit 2.

I don't know why you mention the 60 FPS framerate as one of the big improvements of Revenge, every game in the series runs at 60 FPS with the exception of Legends, obviously.
