The Devs have kept this game alive by giving FREE Content!!!! They have to make money to keep the game going. Cosmetics is there cash cow, every game has pay to play. If you love the game and want it to be consistently updated spend a little cash.

It’s insane that we paid $40 for a game with so much micro transactions being forced. We’re entitled to the ability to unlock most of the rewards in the game, rather than having to pay for around half of the actual cosmetics

I am alright with older limited cosmetics not coming back. What I am not alright with, is that there are almost no "new" limited cosmetic sets coming around or staying "limited" for too long. Once it becomes a little rare and you get to feel somewhat special to have it, you find it in the store with a 200 doubloons pricetag. I once bought a plunderpass where was a Ravenwood costume that had an exclusive emote coming to it. Right now, not that only you can buy the whole Ravenwood set in the emporium anyway, the emote is literally a limited freebie emote given away for everyone. And I once paid for it. And that is the only one of many, many examples. Anyway, we don't need The Hungering Deep set back, or it's re-coloring. But we could use a whole new themed event with new cosmetics. Which is something that quite died with the seasons arrival. But I understand the folks are busy.

They should fix the 3rd part in monkey island first. I mean infinite loading screens and getting stuck after a cutscene like bro literally the buggiest tall tale ive played

I get why you would remove some stuff, but things like adventures and events shouldn’t be removed unless it must be time limited for it to function. Removing content is the height of stupidity in a game

Course it's unfair the quick swap what I'm not happy about is the dark adventurer sails I was saving just for them I'm not gunna have them now I'm not bothered if you could see under the sails it doesn't effect the fight does it and I'm annoyed with the commendations it brings in like get 12 king chests at fof in season twelve there is so many players without a crew that have to solo sloop so I ain't gunna complete that on my own am I 😮

I will be absolutely floored if they just plonk an interactable Flameheart down in the Reapers underground lair and call it good. Im already shocked at how little we have seen of him this year considering they announced his return is S13. They really need to pull out all the stops for this!

Ill give it to Rare just cause i like the game, the rewards restrictions are fair, fine its a game about stealing shit i get it. What I think is bullshit tho is locking the ranking system, getting enough gold for most of the items in the game takes a while as it is, even if you go uncountered as emissary 5. So i dont see why getting reputation needs to be capped at all, it adds a balance, you can get the rep you need for pirate legend solo although itd obviously take more time meaning youre staying dedicated to the game, but after that youre gonna want to get gold and THATS what pushes people into the PvP servers and its done naturally, people doing it on their own instead of thinking "well fuck now i need to go into PvP just to get these last 10 levels for three damn companies".

Arena was way harder than Hourglass lol Especially b/c Rare shafted us, and we farmed 240 wins for the initial cosmetics, then they added TSD and we had to grind an additional 200 wins. 5way Free For All with 1 Winner. ~30minutes minimum per match. My crew won 90-95% of matches = 240 hours. Assuming your 4stack is always ready to go and queued up and able to find matches with our winrate. Which was not the case. With hourglass i can easily farm this solo sloop, or with other players. You don't have to learn team coordination. Hourglass team coordination is far simpler than Arena where you'll often be 3rd partied 3galleons V you, and worrying about getting chests. Helming takes far more skill in arena as positioning was far more complex. For example, if your opponents are dumb enough they will screw themselves over to screw you over and the optimal play is to scuttle your galleon, lose points, to escape a cluster f*ck. This strategy was only known by real arena players. Hourglass is dumbed down, straight forward, and doesn't **require** team coordination to get lv1,000. I havnt played SoT in 2 years and got lv100 AHG in 4 days ~30 hours of playtime with random 'ok' players from official sot discord. Hourglass is easily deducible to a yes-no flowchart. Having hard roles like helm/flex/mc/bilge doesn't work in arena. Everybody is flex with 1 soft-helm and efficient communication. Every role is everybody's responsibility. If you're lacking at any individual role you drag the team down. Hourglass helms can turn their brain off, MC can be a complete shooter bot, and Flex could be good hand-to-hand combat and be useless otherwise. You'll still win half your matches in HG. In arena, you wouldnt. FFA is cruel to the average player. They don't have a 1/5 chance to win of the 5 Galleons. Crews like mine existed, giving average players a horrid winrate. Having to suffer 10 30minute matches for a single win. 2,200 hours of arena with a 10% winrate. lol i wrote an essay - reminiscing on arena was good times

Truth be told, merchant ships are vicious.

My issue is and will always be with SoT is the enormous amounts of time it takes for things to happen. We have "seasons" like every live service game but SoT seasons go for like twice or three times as long as anyone else's, which means its really hard to stay engaged and invested in not only the story, but the game itself. I don't know if they're working on 4 seasons at once or something but it just seems like the seasons drag on and on and on. And then when we get a new season its like a handful of things that you play for maybe a week and that's it, come back again in 4 months. The more you play the worse this issue gets, as theres plenty of people with tons of gold who have done everything in the game 1000 times over and everyone reaches that point sooner or later. The reality is that each season doesn't really add a whole lot which has always confused me based on the amount of time they go for. Last time they really cooked something that was relatively well done and had replay-ability was hourglass but that was only for the PvP crowd and even then they dropped the ball with no cosmetics between lvl ~150-1000. It just feels like they have awesome ideas but don't have the time or resources to actually implement them well and give players something to really sink their teeth into.

I feel like if we do get a tall tale, it will be about us stealing the burning blade sword and resurrecting Flameheart and the Burning Blade ship with it, at least thats my hope, all tall tales have been for athena or “good guys” give us a reapers tale!

You can't be mad at them it's a safer mode so you should earn less gold than the unsafe mode to promote going to the unsafe mode if you want to actually earn gold the safe mode should be used for I don't know if you're trying to do events that are so annoying or trying to learn the game

You know, it would make it fun to make a tall tale starting at the reapers where we finally are forced to be the bad guys in the game rather than choosing to be the bad guys like in the community votes. It's safe to assume the reapers would want the Burning Blade (the sword) at Ancient Spire to either complete the construction of the Burning Blade (ship) at Shipwreck Bay into the monsterous ship coming in S13 or to actually awaken FlameHeart. I'm theorizing that FlameHeart's soul is in his body, but they need the sword to actually awaken him just a car key to turn on the engine. Or we do both! We travel to Ancient Spire, grab the sword, right Ramsey's ghostly pirate legends, and then head to Shipwreck Bay to construct the new Burning Blade, then return to Reaper's Hideout and awaken FlameHeart. This would be cool, but it's probably safe to assume we will not get anything like this at the end of S12 or in S13.

Well, if they were to do "the year of Flameheart" Id imagine would have to do it in stages, with the return of the Burning Blade and Flamehearts return being the Grand Finale. They already have Reapers Hideout, so maybe they will build up the Camps to gather the Materials needed to rebuild his flagship. Flame Heart returning would probably happen shortly before or after his ship is rebuilt.

I just have one thing to say, you're wild for saying the shit about curses lol the very first plunder pass ever released had a curse and it's not like that ruined curses for everyone, if you want to use a curse that's hard to get like the gold curse than do it, if you want to pay real money to make your pirate look how you want regardless of your achievements then go ahead I don't get what the big deal is.

i used to love the story up to the shores of gold. everything after this was confusing to me. this adventure/twitter/social media stuff didn't appeal to me. in fact, i have still no idea what happened to golden sands or where all this footage (except the burning blade trailer stuff) in this video comes from (after 2k hours of playing this game). i learned that much of the relevant stuff is not playable anymore, so i truly don't know, where to start understanding the whole thing. last year, i simply didn't care anymore, but recently i started playing again and i'm a bit frustrated about this whole story thing.

Flameheart's gotta go. It's been way too long since he had any story beats. That combined with the bad writing, just write an actual villain that is worth caring about. He was terribly written to begin with and every time they try to expand on his lore it gets worse. Whoever writes for Rare needs to step down and hire an actual story teller.

I wish they would come out with other ship variations of the ships. You can keep the three lets say tiers? Sloop, Brig, and Gallon, but make another design of a sloop, or the asian ship they should as another sloop or brig variation? Maybe a dutchman but in the gallon class?

Maybe they are making the adventures replayable so people don't miss out on the entire Flame Heart storyline.
