Swim goggles for onion cutting, that's my secret tocnit crying. I use all 3 electric dryer, line drying, and indoor drying for the 6 months that we are hearing with our cookstove. I prefer to not use the electric dryer, but sometimes I must for convenience or due to wet weather.

Onion - have you tried rubbing the cutting board with fresh lemon juice first and during? That helps me, anyway. We just got back from a trip to Europe and there were no dryers in any place we stayed. We were in Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and England. I already mostly hang-dry, so that was helpful. I have a line on my back porch and also an XL wooden drying rack from Pennsylvania Woodworks. I use that inside and out.

I was a young mom - I was single and raised by my dad (my mom left when I was a baby). I had a LOT to learn, but took it all in stride and enjoyed the process. At one point, I actually made a list of home skills I wanted to learn, put it in priority order, and got to work. This was all pre-internet, so I relied on the library. All those skills were very helpful when my youngest's job provided us a home in the country. 😀

I'm in south east UK and always dry my clothes outside on a line...except in the darkest winter months! I love how relaxed you seem with the household chores... truly wonderful :)

Excessive heat and humidity is very hard on my central nervous system. I do my absolute best to embrace the summer, but still have to be careful. I get creative about structuring my day to work for me instead of against me. So, for example, I do all the garden and lawn care as early in the morning as possible. If I can see, I'm outside. So I aim to be outside no later than 630am-7am. I'm in the Ozarks ... but with my DNA being mostly Scottish, I can't help but wonder if that's why I struggle so much with this climate. I do best in the summer climate of Scotland and even have a dream of having a simple summer home there. As for the seasons of life - novice vs climbing up the ladder a little - my children are all married and I have 8 grandchildren so far. The older I get, the less I realize I know or thought I knew. And it seems that things never turn out the way you imagined they will. I'm not saying things turn out worse ... just not as you might have expected. I'm enjoying this season of my life and am very thankful for all the life experiences behind me ...... but pray there's a lot more to come! ❤

I don't use our dryer for my clothes. I have a clothes line in the basement that I use in winter (our wood furnace is down there and is great for drying the clothes). In summer I hang them outside - there are two loads outside drying right now. I have racks for inside if the weather isn't cooperating. I admire your decision to change your mindset about summer. I loved summer as a kid and I grew up in Philadelphia with no AC or even a fan! Maybe it's a function of age, but the heat is tough for me as I am getting older. I do a lot of chores and cooking very early in the morning and can, usually, turn the AC off and open the windows to let in fresh air.

I also dread summer time here in Florida. They are brutally hot and suffocatingly humid. I really liked though your decision to change your mindset. I applied that to other things in my daily grind and found that it surprisingly worked! Thank you 🙏🙂

I live in tropical climate so it’s basically summer all year round. I have to learn to adapt to it lol

I’m new to baking bread! I’ve never been a baker before so the learning curve has felt like a roller coaster. I started out with sourdough however my husband and toddler aren’t huge fans of the taste. Switched to using instant yeast and I’ve been making our own sandwich bread, breadsticks, hot dog and burger buns… it’s been lots of fun!

I hate summer and I have no desire to change that😂

Lovely. I love homemaking. I’ve always hung my clothes to dry outside or on a drying rack. Weirdly, I enjoy handwashing but this is only possible if you have a small amount of clothing.🐇

I’m commenting as I watch lest I forget the questions 😂 We just got back from Ireland. No dryer to be had. It was so easy to line dry! I came home and bought a laundry horse right away! I love it! I enjoy wearing natural fibers and find line drying to be the best option anyway. I dry towels in the dryer at home. They are much softer that way 😂

And…when your baguettes get hard you can run it under cold water and bake it in a 400* oven. Good as new!

Autumn is my absolute favorite! However, I live in the beautiful PNW and we have lovely seasons. I love them all because I love the change each season brings. I don’t do change well generally.

Hi. I enjoy ironing as well. I usually have a podcast or an audio book going in the background. I also hang my nicer clothing to keep them looking new longer. And, yes, I usually wear my hair in a bun or ponytail all summer!

The cabinets under my kitchen island is designated for my Tupperware. I keep all their lids in baskets. During our earlier days of marriage, I was forced to hang clothes, but never enjoyed it.

I am not a fan of hot weather either. I love fall and spring but my most favorite time of the year is winter. I hang my sheets out to dry most of the time, weather permitting of course. I make yeast bread, we love it but I have never tried sour dough bread. I regret never learning how to sew, I guess I could still learn. I raised four children and worked as a nurse so I was really busy for years. Now, maybe I will try to make an apron. Love your videos, interesting content.

Murphy’s oil soap takes off original finish to wood without large amount of effort. Even removes mold with scrubbing.

Looks fabulous and the colour is lovely. Here is a tip to keep hinges protected and keep doors on while painting. Use a small artist paint brush and paint vaseline on the hindges and knobs. Paint the doors, easily wipe off the vaseline once paint is dry. Bonus...hindges are greased. Love your vestibule.

I love Turkish towels. They’re very versatile, especially for packing so that you have a towel. You can use it for a beach , a swimsuit cover up, or a blanket on the airplane. Also pink and brown go very well together so the pink would go very well with the brown that you already have around your windowsill, keep creating. It’s really fun.

Did you notice a small slot in the back of the cabinet? That was to dispose of the old razor blades back in the day.They would fall inside the wall and pile up in the bottom.

It’s never gonna cross over to an English country home kitchen until your stove is the right age. Everything begins and ends with her. She’s the star. A modern range kills any hope of transporting you to the 19th Century. Get online to score a used AGA. Often just going and picking it up and out of the remodeling owner’s hair gets you it for free. Cheaper than paying professionals to haul it away. If you have the space, go for an old European iron cooker.

Really loved how the shade turned out. Just so happens a few days ago I found a small lamp at Goodwill to use in my kitchen. It doesn’t have a shade, but now I’m excited to find an old one and make it work with my chosen fabric!

If you like yellow for your front hall go for it...sometimes on camera the colors look brighter than in person. Because I have auburn red hair too and i have surveillance cameras on the outside of my house and my hair looks brighter than in person...the camera sometimes makes colors look more intense ...

It looks lovely .yes I agree you can paint around the hardware if you’re careful .Those vestibules ,if someone came to the door the maid would let them wait there till she asked the Lady of the house if she should receive them or take their card .They would have a little table and a dish for the cards to be put in till the maid showed them to the Lady ,so take note haha x
