Your absolutely right ☺️ Ethanol is hydroscopic meaning it attracts water, so shutting the gas of and running the carb dry until the engine stopped every time is a must. Ethanol also attacks many rubber components, even aluminium a bit, and it can turn old fuel into jelly like nasty stuff if left in. We never used to have these problems, but green washing is the new black!

In many of your videos I have seen you do the gasoline “smell test”. What exactly are you smelling? What’s the difference in good or bad gas? Thanks.

Plastic welding in a pinch: cut some hose clamps into 1" strips (or to suit the job). Heat with a blowtorch until they are red hot and mash them into place with pliers/screwdriver. The plastic will melt and squish through the hose clamp slots and you are good to go!

I am having GOOD luck with a inexpensive online Husqvarna blower carburetor 3rd season too. I'm lucky though. I really like the mechanic's flip-flops too! Do you have them for sale in an apparel store? Andrew J Myers👽

TC-W3 is designed to keep a water cooled engine protected even when the water cooling system FAILS. I've used Valvoline universal oil (TC-W3 and JASO FB) in air cooled engines with no problem.

Time for the "free advice please" question ;) My mower will die while running the deck but if I catch it quick by killing the PTO the engine catches and doesn't die. Then it takes a number of tries on the PTO to get the deck running again. Is this also a "check the battery" issue? Thanks.

I have a tried and true method of overcoming ethanol issues. Never use it! Use non-ethanol gasoline only. Come on people use common sense.

Hey Chick ...Stupid Question : Why would you not just buy a complete set of different size orings that come in a plastic box ? I have 3 different sized plastic boxes and they each have appx 500 ... one box is green ones for Ac work , one is a red set of orings that are safe in gas and transmission fluid.... and lastly i have a black set that are universal for just about anything . Oh I am an auto mechanic by trade so i need orings all the time . I think i paid like 50 bucks for all 3 plastic cases and i have small opnes even smaller than you showed on the paper ..... Just wondering , Yoou could save a boatload of money ...

We have a legislation here under 2 months of non payment we can sell there equipment, and then after 3 months under any property law its abandonment anyway. I've had a few customers who have declined payment even though I have always been up front with quotes and no surprises along the way. Frustrating is its just more time consuming dealing with people coming in to try and sell it or the "is this available" buttons. Generally it works out in the end.

Power pack, check Torks bits, check hemastats -- full set( the curved ones are really great for pulling fuel lines in chainsaw) the rpm meter I got to get Asap.if you get a portable air tank and adapt it to your dewalt then you get enough moxey to blow out carbs and fuel lines.I do house calls for garden tractors and snow blowers.was retired but got so many can you please help me calls Started the business. Had poor results with generic spindles though. Look for Raisman or OEM or some kind of brand, the generic ones I got have slightly undersized and fragile housing castings.

Bought a cheap carb online for my 17hp Kohler, very generic, just bought the one in range for my size engine. Identical to the POS that the factory put in, maybe a little improved over the decades. Runs perfect, better than the original which always ran rich and stinky. Still just a hair on the rich side which probably helps in winter, didn't even adjust. Has always been tough to start in the winter and still is. Below about 15 degrees F I don't even try to start it without putting a heater or light on it.

You’re right about Amazon carbs. I bought 2 of them for an 8 HP Tecumseh vertical shaft engine. Neither one would work. I found a new old stock genuine Tecumseh carb, wasn’t cheap, but works like a charm.

I think i have a neglected one its a troy built we have changed everything that we can gas oil air filter spark plug but not running good .but it would run first pull before all that stuff was replaced any helpful hints

Good evening! Just getting to watch today’s video. I have a recommendation for you, get the proper cross section of those o-rings for that carburetor and the check with McMaster Carr company. If they don’t have it there are a couple other vendors I have used in my industrial maintenance work over the past 45 years that may be able to supply them. Parker is another one I use. Keep up the great work.

I have a little older Troy built it was free it would start up first pull but I changed oil new air filter and dumped out gas put in new gas .tried to start it now it don't run good .replaced the spark plug then it starts a little bit but can't keep it to stay running

Social media today is a corporations worst nightmare. Word of mouth isn't the only way to get info out there anymore. The big companies Or any company for that matter, need to be held accountable for crappy design and manufacturing of products if they want to stay in business.
