In this video I'm showing how to make a 3D isometric water cube in toon style using Spline. I'll show a step by step modeling process using booleans and modeling tools. Then we'll make a complex water shader using advanced layering techniques. Adding details is important so we'll make secondary outlines using paths. From Spline's asset library we can quickly fill the scene with rocks, plants clouds birds and fish. We'll use the particle emitter to make bubbles. To finish it off we'll make the design interactive and add it a to a website.

I struggled at 9:00 because my depth layers' blending modes were set to "overlay" instead of "normal"

when i try to add the rim light effect, it doesnt show anything :( i would love to add rimlight to my character. otherwise really great tutorial!!
this doesnt work on certain objects. Nothing shows up except a glitchy mess

I feel like in 4.2 you can't do this anymore. I tried all the settings and backfacing still don't work as it shoul for this method. I'm dissapointed

Is it possible that Blender 4.2 and EEVEE next broke parts of this tutorial? The blend mode settings seem to have been removed in this version?
Yes, things have been removed, but mostly renamed. Under material settings > Render Method you can find the new blend modes, Blended mode and Dithered. Blended is the new Alpha Blend.

Do you use the basic version of spline for this?
I'm using the super version but you don't need that to be able to make this design :), the basic version is fine.
ctrl a in edit mode for skin modifer to change thickness
how did you make the texture at 2:37 ?
simple toon shading, you can achieve that with the shader to rgb node, search toon shading in blender for tutorials
I've seen a bunch of people saying that this was too fast and hard to learn, and maybe it's just me, but I found this tutorial actually very good. I had almost no knowledge of blender when I first found this, and yes, it is annoying that the video is fast and a little too zoomed in, but it helps you find your way around the program while you're trying to find where those options are. (also, that's what the pause button is for!)
Thank you! Exactly, you can hit that pause button, and also this video is not made for beginners, it's made for people who are already using Blender and want to try out a different style, so it's more like an overview.

15:16 pls How do you put full screen? I'm using Wix to use the embedded code, but my pages don't look as pretty, they keep the usual formatting and I want them to look full screen

I have a problem with the bevel (3:30). Mine is stretched and doesn't make a 45° angle like in the video.
Maybe you put the object in a group and scaled the group. If you do that the corners will be stretched. Make sure you scale the object and not the group. Delete the rectangle and do it again exactly as I show you.

@@c.rberyl3759 oh yeah, actually I made that mistake too with the original popsicle. You can see on the reference image that all the flavors are slightly stretched at 3:26 haha.
