Going downhill on a big adventure bike puts a lot of stress on your rear brake. Sometimes mine fades and even stops working due to overheating. Using your engine while turned off and working your clutch can get you down a steep hill safely. Here’s how…

Oh man me too,my forever bike 1090R had mine 6 years totaly awsome still the best on market fir sure.
Nice work man
Nice! See you in 2025!!
Thanks for the help picking up the T7 ,rubber side down
@@betafett4172 I literally did nothing… just moral support. If that was you that basically lifted the whole thing up and out… impressive.
Wonder if a small roller would make pushing that strip in easy
@@ianparkes4452 maybe???
Bummer we didn't cross paths at the rally ... I had a fuel pump and OEM filters. I had filter issues the first week of owning my 1090. Switched to the Guglatech system and haven't had an issue since.
@@obrianmcc12 I just installed the kit from Quantum.
Nice work! Thanks for coming and we'll see you in 2025!!
Whenever I hear of KTM issues I just SMH.
@@_hold_the_line_ It just shake my wallet, and all my money falls out into my KTM.
500 pound plus bikes on a single track .... LMAO
I ride a dual sport and no one waves to me besides other DS and slingshots, sadly.
@@dustinf11 Slingshots… haha
Fell close to the edge, jeeze
Couple little nerving areas
Pretty area
Some oneway signs sure would go along way.
Good thing you didnt fall of cliff
Nice single track
Wow, lots of people!!
Went for a ride the other morning, bout died. It is so hot here Texas 100+ every day
11 hours😮
I own a 2021 Gear Up... just a few thoughts. Uphills, off pavement, loaded with passenger and gear I can tell you this, 1st gear is geared too high for real world off pavement work which is a REAL SHAME IMHO. The Sachs shocks are worthless POS. The Enduro bench seat is as comfortable as a brick up the backside. 2wd is very handy and so is reverse. Just about every person that sees you either smiles or waves. UDF, Ural Delay Factor, is for real. Ural's 3 yr warranty is a must and they are great at honoring it. I run Duro 307 trail tires and surprisingly, they work very well. Don't expect to zip up hills 6% or more any faster than say 40-50Mph. Owning one is a lesson in pulling over at wide spots to let traffic go by that we were holding up and never been flipped off! Waves, photos smiles even some stares but, everyone is like "Oh a sidecar. Must be old and slow." That and I have a reflective sign that reads, "Please Be Patient" on the back. Suspension upgrade is expensive at $1500.00-3k+. But the one thing that I would say is the most annoying thing about my Gear Up is the lack of a Granny Low Gear to be able to crawl over an obstacle. It is a HUUGE drawback. It means a lot of clutch work and irritation, so, get a winch if your seriously going off road. You will need it. If you're the typical Uralista that never takes the machine off pavement then the gearing will be fine and as you say, "Shifts like a tractor." The $34,000.00 version has good suspension but is it really worthy of that price? My answer is a sad "No." For less you could buy a street legal side by side that is much more capable and won't pound you to death and into physical therapy for an impinged spine. Of course that wouldn't be as "COOL" though.😵💫
Great riding with you as always Rod!!
Fun fun
Big turn out
They are what they are. Have a newish one, an older one Identical to it (my Avatar) and a much older one with a BMW motor....had a Harley and a Triumph rig. Saying that, love the straight cut gears (best for sidecar use) and basically would not be without one....
@@JamesAllmond I really want one!
Thank you very much for this review. I have a touratech top case on my ktm 390 adventure and I wanted to add a rackless system in front of it. I have been looking at mad mules from Turkana and this video really helped. I am just wondering if I can keep my touratech top case with this system or do just take it off and replace it with a Turkana bag for weekend rides. I use the bike to commute every day and I don’t really want to take off the soft panniers all the time.
Yes you can do that. You would just need to put the base on your passenger seat. As you can see in my video the rear rack is totally exposed, because I also have a hard top case that I use daily. Having the MadMules and the Dufallo and the Hard Top Case would be soooo much stuff to carry - but it could 100% work. I'm about to ride to the Touratech Rally in Washington and then ride the ORBDR (see RideBDR.com) so you'll see this in action.
@@adventurod thank you very much. Looking forward to see it in action.
I'm in a terrible situation. I have been riding for 43 years. I just bought my first Harley Davidson, a Street Glide. I have ALWAYS worn mittens. No fingers!! Comes from living in upstate New York where we have cold weather. I can't properly wave to other Harley riders. I feel like an outcast !!
Best comment in years!
Thanks for the lekka review, and you are right, dirty is faster 😁... also really enjoy using the Turkana stuff, it's all so well thought out ... 🇿🇦🙂👍🏻
Great option for cold weather for sure
Lots of puddles
Sure looks fun

A super nice but today the enemies bike. NO SUPPORT FROM RUSSIA AND we shouldn't support it anymore. A pitty for sure. 😞
This is made in Kazakstan not Russia
@@jerry2wheels618 Yup, and the company is American. Parts are from the same suppliers in Taiwan etc that Ducati, Triumph, Harley etc use.
I think if they sold them without the side car, a lot more people buy one. Not too many people want a side car.
The frame/fork set-up is not supposed to be good as a solo. Old beemer would be a better bet.
My OCD is kicking in. I think it needs a major valve adjust. Let me take care of that for you. 😆 The bike looks really cool tho. I really like the color. Thanks for sharing.
Now more than ever is not the time to support ruZZia in any way.
That junk red pick-up isn't scarry to drive...😂
Pretty wild
I was gonna join ya but I couldnt find ya🤣plus im in Texas
C’mon!
Thanks for the shoutout 🤙🏼😁
Looking at the turkana bags for my Tuareg....would you go with the 20l again? Or the 15? I keep going back and forth
I struggled with that too. It all depends on your ability to pack light. I also bought the 40L Duffalo & 25L Duffalo for options. The 15L would be the perfect fit for the Tuareg - which has one of the nicest looking tails. I’m not sponsored by Turkana, but 100% endorse their stuff.
Thanks Adventurod🤙🏼😁
@adventurod definitely leaning towards the 15, thanks!
I love my T7 :-)
Nice looking
Good bike but once you go Tuareg you never go back
Too heavy and not very competent on the highway either. Had one for 6 months and quickly got rid of it.
Did they drop 20kg from it yet?
No idea??? Felt the same as 2023
