The Crosland Moor Bread and Butter Thing 9 Months & 1 Award Later
Nine months ago we did a video about The Bread and Butter Thing (TBBT) and the opening of their new Crosland Moor hub. Since our visit, TBBT's work has been recognised by the community, after receiving an award from the Mayor of Kirklees.
TBBT offers a week's worth of food, including fresh fruit and veg, chilled food for the fridge, and cupboard staples such as pasta and cereal, for a fraction of the price.
The project gets its supplies from the stuff you hear about in the news going to waste: it comes from supermarkets, factories, and farms. Surplus food is good food; it's not anything about to go off or past its date.
There is no joining criteria to sign up, and anyone can sign up without long-term commitments.
TBBT is open every Thursday at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

".... invited to Britain..." ? The Empire Windrush was a troop ship. Simon Webb has talked about this on his channel Debunking History.
Proud of ya sis! 🫂 A sweet interview - all the best for your eternal creative journeyyy 👏🏾
A very interesting interview!
Karuna Birdi My fevorite Artists 🙌
Who on earth on kirklees council decided these horrible things would look nice in the town centre , probably the same idiot who decided a cycle lane going the wrong way up high street which no one uses , they would have been better just carrying on with the trees which start at the begining of the street which look nice with the lights on ,
I have just watched your interview and loved it . Such a heartfelt and powerful message and I loved your reasons for taking up art. We all come to it in different ways. I loved the tribute to your parents too and that your heart brings peace and healing to yourself too. Your message resonates a lot with me and thank you so much for sharing your art and experiences. I was interviewed by Judy too and I found the experience almost like talking therapy . It is good to talk is a message that should definitely be out there. You are doing great work and long may it continue.
A very interesting interview Terry and I lovedhearing about your artistic journey and Impressionist inspirations.I also enjoy my membership of Huddersfield Art Society and the sharing of idea Thank you for sharing your work and your story.
A great interview Kin and so good to see you again and to hear you dicuss your artistic journey with such enthusiasm. You are an inspiration to all who know you. Sending all best wishes to you and your family.
Johnson!! How did i miss this 😭
Aww well done Julie champion girl🏆👌🏾✨ am so proud of you Beautiful drawings pure talent that you knew you always had❤👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Wow, what a positive talented beautiful lady! Loving the #blessings flowing from watching, listening to this interview. The short but insightful peek into the inspiring g background, the inception and profound rise with the realisation of a unique gifting in her artistic abilities with flavoured perspectives as a ground breaking black woman. To discover her gift with a practical therapeutic outlet…. during a worldwide “lockdown”, the peace of mind that she exudes even through those stated emotional challenges of grieving, was quite a touching moment to watch. Especially at a time in history when many people, including the UK Prince’s Willian & Harry, complained of mental health challenges or illnesses 🇬🇧 I found your programme relaxing, refreshing, reassuring and uplifting towards what revivable dormant hope, lays inside the human heart, mind & soul for each of us 🙌🏾🎉🇯🇲 How can we obtain her interesting niche artwork please?
Great.
All the white people have left dewsbury. I would never leave my town because of immigration and different racesovinh in my area I would say and push them back out
I remember those days as if they were yesterday! I was a teenager in 1961 - just left school (without qualification), then had to find work in a factory. And everywhere you went you'll see signs saying: "Vacancies, applied within. No blacks." My Aunt used to say to me; don't stay out late because the Teddy Boys will get you.
Great to see Matty in action again. I worked with matty for many years at Hallmark in Bradford, sat opposite him from time to time (It was called Unique Images then). Matty was a very funny guy and his cake corner was a sight to behold!
Thank you so much for your very kind words They were very happy days.
@@matthewevans3437 You're welcome Matty, next time we have a get together Ill give you a shout.
Matts a real talent and a great guy
Imagine turning up at a police station in the pissing rain, soaked through, complaining that a woman threw water at you...
When were these pans last tuned😭
Wow how can I get you to hull uni for a guest lecture!
I wonder how many of them claim benefits while contributing nothing to the United Kingdom
Brilliant viewing...reminds me not to take for granted what my parents & others HAD to through for me to be where I am today 🙏🏾

My mother & I went to the Head of Steam for refreshments last summer It's a pub also located in St George's Square Suffice it to say that my enthusiasm for returning to that establishment is virtually non-existent
We don't need spirt centred.. We need the introduction of compulsory military conscription for young men, military studies in schools, and a return to a compulsory combined cadet force in schools, to prepare our youngsters to fight in the upcoming war with Russia
Maybe what they should do is put the money they spent on those dreadful white olympic torch-looking things on the high street and put them towards things people actually want and use and need like the sports centres and nursing homes
Well done ladies. Great work.
Well done🔥🙏🏾🙏🏾
Excellent informative interview. This needs to be on BBC 'The One Show' to reach a broader audience at prime time. Well done
It's quiet in the comments 🫤
Love this well done !
