The "he made himself cry" line is what kills my respect for him as a person. He's a glorious chef and I would learn incalculable amounts of information regarding cooking, but I will never respect him as a person. If you're so arrogant to think that screaming and yelling and attacking a person verbally for hours has to have no effect on a person and if it did it's "their fault", you have no business being around people. This is mislabeled, if you read Gordon's wiki he got serious about his education and went to hotel management at 19 in Oxfordshire and was a commis chef at a hotel while studying. He moved to London after he graduated in 87 which would have made him 20, turning 21 when he met Marco. That aligns with this documentary which was filmed in 89 when Gordon was 22. Gordon would have been one of his top apprentices at this point and moved on shortly after this doc was filmed as he was at Marco's restaurant Harvey's for 2 years and 10 months.

Every cook can cut without looking. You dont need to look if you do it right. Its the same over and over again. My brother learnd the job cook but he dont practice it Yet still he can look away while cutting. You also can weld without looking. Its called muscle memory.
