I might be wrong but I'd suspect a valve adjustment. Air cooled generators are kinda high maintenance pos from my experience and if you use them often they expire pretty quick. I use one to power a portable water pump for livestock troughs frequently if I get a whole year out of one before the rings are shot and completely burning oil I'm doing good.

1:45 those green/red dots is the engage/disengage tab on the back of the transmission behind the mower. One slot is engage the other is for transport. I have a 3013 and the tires were locked. But just the brake was stuck. Messing with the release didnt help me. Had to tap the linkage lever on the transmission with a mallet to get the brake to unstick. Good to see this resolved.

That's not a vanguard engine. It's an intek.

Looks like that idler needs to be on the outside of the belt. That will also increase the contact on the pulleys.

I think that's what's wrong with my Kohler. Revving super high and the throttle control lever has zero effect. Did the governor adjustment to no avail as well.

I've done this many, many, times. Identical mower. I've never once had to remove the Pulley Stack or the Belt Guides around the Deck Belt Pulley. I just work the belt UP along the side of the Pulley Shaft and onto the Upper (drive) Pulley. You are right about lowering the Transaxle. And ya, it is a bear of a job, either way. One thing I'd say is get a good belt. I only use STENS 248-030 V-belt Replacement with Aramid Cord. It will last much longer.

Remove the transmission and take it apart. The b 1:23 lock is bad cinder block. Unpause please the wheel motor. Wheel motor looks like a revolver with pins sticking out will springs in the bottom. My analogy of a revolver I mean the cylinder in a revolver as in Colt 45. You can get this information also online

Its the Hydrostatic gear pully that sits on top of the fan. - The gears strip out.

There was originally a solenoid mounted near the governor that matched the rpm to the load - it was apparently problematic enough to discontinue the part, the replacement mechanism was notably more complex and electronically integrated with its Onan generator components. Briggs also sold a bright orange and slightly beefed up version of this generator under their contractor brand "Koehring", 3500 watts 110/220v. I plan to do a propane conversion on mine, assuming that electric start isnt too complex to implement. Eliminating gasoline as a fuel should make it much more reliable for intermittent/occasional use! These units are comparatively rare today, this is the first video Ive seen on one. I assume the tombstone Briggs is now more valuable by itself lol - ty sir!

Have the same generator from 91 when i bought my house, great generator! Its hard to pull, so i spray syarter fluid in the air filter every time kicks right off.

Turn the governor rod that enters the engine the same way the throttle linkage would go for full open. In your video you turned it opposite the way it should go. That should solve your problem. If it does not help, you must open the engine again and make sure the small sleeve in the center of the governor didn't fall off again. That will come off if the governor rod moves to far. It's a poor design being upside down in the engine but it is how the so called smart people designed it.

Not much time ever running a string trimmer. I've never seen anybody ground start one.

You have you fuel filter backwards

Good looking installation. I got a co-worker friend asking me about putting an engine the same bike. 24" wheels, step through frame. The 410 chain is gonna cause a lot of drag

Move the transmission lever and observe what arms or cable is moving and try to understand its function.

All you have to do is. Take the front left wheel off. Then take off the height adjuster a bend it , without rounding it out. Right at the point and it put s the tension back on the axle and holds it in place..

What was the issue?
