88 V-Twin Primary noise . Thinking it was the clutches.
zhlédnutí 19KPřed 2 lety
A strange noise coming from the primary area though maybe it might be in the clutch basket but it comes out to be something else . Tighten up the Compensator 140 ft lbs torque .put it back together and it runs great . Problem solved !!

Hey quick question, Whats the part number on that swing arm? I need to do one on my 04 kodiak 450 but I cant seem to find a swing arm for it anywhere.
You really aught to paint that bad boy yellow too!!! lol Cheers man thanks for the help fixin my crappy chopper
Monarch ammo is slightly larger and thinner case and it swells up causing extraction issues
That’s how the monarch ammo is
Run a primary belt drive system and eliminate the damn compensator all together
Thank you for your service and wisdom
Check out my new video about this
I have weird noises from primary there were shaving on drain plug magnet I looked at magneto and there were light shaving on it could it be bearing I'm at a loss
Get a new rotoe this is a common issue
I read a bunch of comments on this that aren't too friendly. People need to start being nicer to one another. Nice video, thanks for sharing!
red lock tite on compensator bolt.
That's some really good information. I'm having the same issue with mine. Grinding sounds coming from the clutch area. I'm hoping that's all I have going on in there. About yo find out.
Thanks for the video brother, I'm chasing a noise on my 00 FLHT. SUP 16-4A here.
There was a spacer missing under the bolt. Part number 29923-01a. I am sure you fixed it by now.
Thanks . I looked back over the video and yes No spacer .. WOW I wouldn't know till you pointed it out , Thanks
Great info, I'm getting a set this weekend so good timing, thank you.
I had the same problem sounded like rod knock
I missed it. Could you do it again? I was watching the TV behind you.
hold on , let me change the channel
Good deal, I didn't realize that. Thank you!
that's not a hack that's what you're supposed to do with that tab
THAT IS NOT A "HACK" it's made to do that when you get them new !
😁👍
Tell me you're from Texas without telling me you're from Texas
And if you set a car on them it'll hold it up
If you didn't know this.... I don't know what to tell you. Maybe get government assistance.
Where's a lot of people out there that didn't Know this
I wouldn't call it a hack considering this is what that tab is meant for and even noted by a label and instructions.
There's a lot of people out there that didn't know this
@@TexRangerxthere’s a lot of people out there that voted for Biden too but, I digress..
whats that got to do with Jack stands ?@@garycasper2929

Great video I have a 75 ironhead xlh 1000 and my shifter has play and isn't tight and not shifting easy. I'm thinking my paw springs may be worn out! I will use your video to get it done. Thanks
Thanks for the heads-up! I need to purchase a new solenoid for my Xv1600 Roadstar and will keep an eye out for this!
I just put a new starter solenoid in my Yamaha Stratoliner this evening and I was a little confused about the B and M. B stands for Battery side and M stands for Motor side. The little strap was on the B side of my old and new one so that didn't trip me up.
Lose compensator nut is common on those years and also check the spring pack if you can move those springs at all replace.
Do you use some sort of adhesive to Keep the brass bearing in place? Or is just bolting the cam and tower down on top enough to hold it?
I believe there is supposed to be a washer were its rubbing??
That's right, the spacer is missing. I have mine apart right now, and I went to verify. There is a spacer approximately 1/16" on my 2001 88.
Im having hell out of mine too I’m thinking about putting the comp eliminator on. Some say it’s bad to run the eliminator but to me it’s worse running with a fkd up compensator right?
Hey, thanks for this video. This might be my problem with my 2014 Road King. I'm getting a clunking sound between when I roll off the throttle and and engine is now on compression. It's like there's play somewhere in the primary. Noticeable between on and off throttle ( if I rock the bike on off throttle. What's that sleeve called where the big nut was loose?
@ 2:30 you can clearly see that your Alternator rotor is missing the teeth that engage the motor output shaft, probably because of the loose comp. nut.
Yup not only that but hes also missing the spacer that goes after the rotor before the splines shaft.
thanks for putting this vid out there and more importantly, thank you for serving our country.
What is a mosenburg ?
Thank you, good vid
I think I just realized...I hooked mine up backwards😂
Hey brother thank you for the video very good, love the bike. Nice workable garage he got there!! I have a 2005 Fatboy same exact compensator, my spring pack gave out was making a knocking sound replaced it. Got a new compensator from bikers choice. Thank you for your service!
Very clever idea, I like that you've thought outside the box.
Just replaced the rear arm on my 02 yamaha kodiak 400 4x4. When I lowered it from the jack, the rear is squatting. I know the arm was tight after it was installed, did yours loosen up?
No . Mine was fine when I set it down off the host
Life saver on this video I was ready to burn this shop to the ground cuz I wasn't ready to spend 113 for a oem one
Yep, Dan at Accu-tig. Remington 700's rarely have bolt handle break offs, 710, 770's are the worst for it, 783's less of a problem but still happens. Best to send your bolt in for a TIG reinforcement IMO.
Your video is great! Thank you. I had the same issue with a starter selenoid I bought on EBay for my 03 1100 VStar-could not finger out why I wasn’t getting power. I watched your video a couple mire times, then went back to my purchase history on Ebay. After enlarging the photo, I discovered that I had the same situation, I took it apart. I don’t have a way to connect that “tab” or the “bar” behind it. So rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, I’ll go back to Ebay and find a unit that has the tab on the B side, Thanks.
What's a mausenburg
yea .. if I had an audience I would of been corrected on the first time
I installed an electronic ignition kit to my 8n N,,,so far so good.
My Yamaha Raider just started making the same dame noise. I checked the pulley, I put my factory light bulb back. Still doing it. Please listen to it on my channel, tell me what you think. It's a short video
I have a remington .243 when i chamber a round the bolt will not go forward all the way and obviously won’t latch. Any ideas?
