Thanks for the information on the "Medallion". I am new to the Prayer plant collection - when a friend gave me 2 plants when we moved into our new home. I love the Medallion and also the "Lemon Lime". But I definitely want to get the Rattle Snake plant, too. I also have Freddie and "Red" (the one with the red veins in the leaves). I had some "non-Prayer plants" that were covered with fungal gnats. I use hydrogen peroxide and water mixture on those plants once a month and I also put a layer of sand on the top of the plants.. Is it ok to do this treatment on the Calatheas. I water most of my plants from the bottom. Do you know if that will work on these prayer plants, too? Thank-You so much for the advice.

The variegated jade is a full sun/part shade plant when grown outside. Full morning sun is best as afternoon sun in hot climates can burn. If grown inside it should definitely be in FULL sun as the sun only directly hits the window for a couple hours then the window gets indirect sun as it passes. The window also blocks some of the light-especially if you have newer UV windows or even double pane with a storm window. Every inch that you go back from the window drastically lessens the amount of light the plant receives. Placing this plant with your tropicals on a far wall is a death sentence to this sun loving plant.

hello, I have to say that leaving the water to sit for sometimes doesn't eliminate all the minerals, for exemple chloramine would not leave ... Rain or well water are the best but if you are living in an apartment, you can put one or two drops of aquarium water conditionner (mine is API, but there are a lot of them in Amazon or in retailers shops). I water every time now with that and have zero brown tips on the leaves, I got this advice on CZcams !Sheffield plant guy) ! Also, I had moved my calathea in another room and they don't like to be moved or too bright light, they prefer medium light.! Also some calatheas are easier than others, rattlesnake and makoyana are easier than black dottie or medallion, it is easier when you get them as baby plants because they can acclimate to your conditions and you can maintain them around the year and for many years ...

Please don't pull the leaves out. That is how the plant is supposed to grow. The leaves will grow out without your intervention.

This evening I just come across to meet this beautiful succulent with pink flowers at the market then at the convenience store too! I’m going to get one. She’s so beautiful I’m still thinking about her 🌵🌵

Iv had my BP for 3 years now and never had this issue, but we recently moved and now she’s splitting every new leaf, my conclusion is lack of light, she got very bright direct light most of the day plus being near a grow light, this new place has very little light she has a grow light but she’s not a fan.

This woman is an expert yet her BOP is dying for water behind her....someone rescue it.😅
