We are the sound of Kinnick Stadium and the heartbeat of the University of Iowa. We are 270 marching Hawkeyes who are part of a legacy spanning more than 140 years. We are the Hawkeye Marching Band.

Honoring Professor Dave Woodley

In May, the Hawkeye Marching Band's ninth director, Professor Dave Woodley passed away. Professor Woodley earned two degrees from Iowa and served as drum major and graduate teaching assistant in the HMB before serving as director from 1991 to 1992. So when I was in the band Metallica's Black album just came out. My high school Band Directors said it wasn't real music. Yep I'm about to send them this link ASAP. 😅
That was pretty awesome.... to bad the sound guy didn't get the levels mixed properly..... couldn't hear the guitar..... really could only hear the bass player from the metal band. Loved it 💯
