- Chief Justice of India Justice D Y Chandrachud spoke exclusively to PTI on the recent developments in the judiciary, including the judgement on Ram Mandir, criticism of Article 370 and same-sex marriage judgements and a variety of issues related to the Supreme Court and the functioning of the courts in India.
Justice Chandrachud for the first time responded to why the Babri Masjid Ram Mandir dispute judgement did not carry the name of the author of the judgement.
Speaking on same sex marriage judgement, Justice Chandrachud said as a judge he disassociates himself after the judgement.

I would want the next person to interview him to ask this question : How can he maintain such a degree of humility while delivering such shrued judgements that needed to be looked objectively and inwardly, while remaining as understanding and compasionate as he Is?. Lemme sort an example, in the case ADR V SBI, while one of the 5 judges are rightously annoyed with SBI asking for 3 weeks just to priovide the informations locked up in silos, Hon'ble JCI just said calmly that he will dictate an order in which, he dismissed the petition of Contempt on SBI by ADR adding if SBI fails to comply,it will be treated as a Contempteous Act. Now that, is An Order. I dont respect a lot of men (or women) and even less i awe, but Hon'ble CJI Dhananjaya Chandrachud is the top person amongst the very few i awe. As a fellow Indian and a subscriber of the Constitution of India, i would like to forward to this great man a Thank You.
