Anyone feels heart melting near the end of the song?
Yunchan Lim is clearly the new musical phenomenom of our time.
If we go deeper in the analysis, after listening most of what can found so far on youtube, here what we can conclude. His playing is a perfect combinaison, extremly balaced and smarly arranged of multiple aspects : voice decomposing, left hand shifting, multi layer singing and middle section and bass section accompagnement.
In short, if you really try to analyse his playing, you will notice that if it not like a classic "rigth hand singing + left hand harmonizing", in fact evrything is decomposed in layer, sections and voices, and rearranged with naturality and musically in real time with a perfect balanced technique but without being neither demonstrative, neither directive.
An artist to really follow closely, because only at 19 year old, he already surpass most of his professionnal collegues, unfortunatly for them.

That was really well said. I’ve been playing a while, but seeing Yunchan playing to me is just otherworldly. It’s so emotional and clear. Fantastic, every time I hear it.

@@heeheh0000 fair enough, music is holistically subjective. I haven’t heard Lang lang’s rendition in a while but I’d be happy to compare the two again. ‘Heart of keys’ I believe her name is, has a nice rendition to which focuses more on the dynamics and the rubato sections.

beautiful playing. im even inclinded to say the p word (perfect). he seems like a modern day arrau to me. his conception of the music is amazing, he focuses 100% on the music, and doesnt let his unbelievable technical ability distract himself from the real goal. his playing is ridiculously mature for his age too. he is going to become this generation's legend if he hasnt already. 👏

임윤찬 덕에 네이버에 있는 '모스크바의 여명'이라는 소설도 읽게되었는데, 거기서 나오는 타티아나를 향한 에르네스트의 감정이 상상이 잘 안되곤했는데, 이런것이었을까 싶어요. 에르네스트는 사랑한다는 말을 피아노로 하곤 했으니 타티아나에 향한 마음이 어느정도 이 곡을 통해 상상이 되네요. 정말 가슴떨리고 설레는 마음인거같아서 부러워요 ㅠㅜ 리스트 스페셜 듣고싶었는데 감사합니다..

Music definitely isn't about hitting the right notes and more about expressing but missing them could affect their message. However, I felt all his energy and emotions even when he missed the climax chord. That is truly amazing.

임윤찬 다른 연주영상에서도 그러고 다른 피아니스트들도 저 부분 미스터치가 많더라구요. 사실 아마추어인 저도 안낼려면 안낼 수 있는데, 약간의 의도적인것도 있지 않나싶어요!(잘 몰라요 ㅠㅠ)
임윤찬 피아니스트는 미스터치로 해석을 자주 하기때문에 뭐 저것도 대단하다 할수있죠
아니 인정할건 인정해야함 ㅋㅋㅋ 저건 백퍼 미스터치임. 저 부분 오른손 왼손 옥타브 도약이 좀 왔다갔다 심해서 피아니스트들도 이 곡 하이라이트 부분에서 미스터치 종종보임. 근데 뭐 미스터치가 중요한게 아니고 저렇게 감정표현 한다는게 진짜 극악으로 어려운 곡이니.. 솔직히 이정도 수준의 곡이 되면 어떤곡이든 조금씩 미스터치가 다 보이기마련임. 특히 리스트는 도약이 심해서.. 라캄파넬라 같은것도 피아니스트도 한 곡 안에 몇개씩 틀림 ㅋㅋ
