Having worked in manufacturing/ distribution industry, this is gold! Would make everything from viewing Bill of material (BOM), process productions, tracking orders, followup sales, create invoices, etc extremely easy and smooth.
Yes, the amount of manual paper work involved for e.g. logistics companies is crazy, because employees essentially map the differences in these companies' ontologies by filling out lots of different forms manually, all day long. This is because each company calls the same thing something else.. Sharing the same ontology (or being able to map between them in Foundry) could probably allow for much greater automation and reducing workforce.
@@akrobet Spot on with your analysis. There is also the other issue where you have to jump between software applications because they serve specific purpose (ie. SAP & Concur (SAP product) which is a pain to use, navigate & fugly!!!
Great stuff -- this sort of network effect has been a pretty huge part of my personal growth thesis on Palantir becoming the connective tissue of organizations in the future, and pretty awesome hearing your thoughts on it as someone who has gotten to use Foundry.
Oh man! I'm a cowboy! On a steel horse I ride! Can't wait for the Vegas party when we all are richer in ten years! Party on my friend.😃😃😃😃😃😃✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
This is a question geared towards what happened today. Does Palantir/management/employees even notice days like this? Is this any kind of motivation? I'm sure a lot of Palantir investors are feeling extra sick today but it seems as if Palantir truly doesn't care about their stock. But I find it hard to believe that someone that's getting SBC wouldn't care if their networth shrank 24% in a single day. A day that's equally painful for Theil and Karp probably losing hundreds of millions of dollars. Yet the bleeding will continue. Rant over. Need CodeStraps calming voice on a day like this.
Right, but they all implement a different data model where the "data" is just that. The data doesn't exhibit behaviors when you interact with it. An ontology does. And with an ontology, you can code interactions once and have them run anywhere. Google's Ontology allows everyone to interact with the internet with natural language. You don't have to codify the query for each specific interface that gets implemented like with REST APIs. The closest thing we have to this is federated GraphQL.
Since you started making these videos, PLTR stock has plummeted from a high of $40 to ~$7. Even IF Palantir grows revenue at 30% yoy until 2025, it is still a very small tech company... What do you think about THAT Codestrap?
I've always said I see an inflection point for mass adoption starting in 2025 for several reasons. One is industry trends which I believe will fully culminate by then. The other deals with them figuring out how to scale out the platform. I dont cover the stock on this channel because I'm not a financial adviser or an SME. I will sometimes share what I am doing personally. My investment strategy continues to be aquire as many shares as possible between 2021 and 2025 provided there are no thesis breakers (which i published on my channel). So what i think is the same thing I've thought since day one. You need to create your own thesis. As I've stated multiple times on this channel dont buy the stock based on what I say. Do your own due diligence. I do feel my channel has provided one of a kind insight into a very secretive company and has been a valuable resource to a broad range of investors including professional analysts. You're welcome.
This is not financial advice. I'm not a financial advisor. Do your own due diligence. Anything can happen, and there are huge risks which I've called out on my channel pretty religiously.

Good luck.
Why is a shared ontology required to create apps that span multiple companies? Don't we already do this using APIs?
