It didn't help him that in the early game Irelia picked up extra kills on a roam. I'm relatively new to the game but playing mid lately I've realised it's far easier to pick up kills roaming than to try and force them in your lane. Then when you come back with extra gold/kills/items on your opponent life gets much easier. So yeah they had him early in an outplay, but he did well to claw it back. And also, well, Aatrox.
