- A Special "Behind-the-Scenes" visit by Regis Philbin, on the set of "Wonder Years." As part of a series on "Live with Kathy & Regis," John Burroughs High School in Burbank was visited by Regis, who interviewed nearly the entire Savage family: Star Fred, brother Ben (who was appearing in the forthcoming "Valentine's Day" episode), and proud mama Joanne. Also, Winnie Cooper herself is found doing, what else, Geometry. Regis hangs with Josh Saviano, before heading to the wardrobe department to be outfitted as Kevin's "Older-Older" brother. The airing of this segment was in the Summer-early Fall of 1989. I apologize for the quality, but, this feature has not been seen anywhere else. Time-Life finally put out a terrific DVD set of the entire series, replete with the original music. Consider this a nice little "Bonus Feature."

Yup she received a degree in mathematics from UCLA. Co-authored a paper & has written a few math books- maybe 6, for girls.

I remember watching TWY on TV as they came out. I was little. So kevin was older which meant Kevin was about the coolest dude on planet Earth. He was older, had a GF, he was cool man. Girls thought he was cute, dudes wanted to be him

When people do interviews they are in a way acting. I would not assume to know how any celebrity really is based on an interview. Just think about how you behave at a job interview..
You are seeing interview Fred... We all act differently on camera... I wouldn't base an opinion on anybody from an interview.

Interesting that Danica was studying geometry in the interview and later became a math whiz, writing many books encouraging interest in mathematics. For a generation that watched the series, she will always be Winnie, that ideal beauty of teenage romance.
The fact that Regis is hosting this segment takes it to a whole other level.

They are rebooting it, but from the perspective of a black family in the 60's. Fred Savage is an Executive Producer on the show and will direct the pilot. They are aiming for a release sometime later this year.

This is awesome! Wonder Years is back on tv. Great to have this Regis giving us a tour. One of the greatest and most underrated show in television history.
Underrated? Seriously? Lol since when is becoming an iconic show that won a bunch of Emmys and has a few episodes in Tv Guide's greatest episodes of all time list underrated?

I think Regis' questions towards Danica about her relationship with Fred were slightly intrusive, but TBH, I would have asked exactly the same sort of thing myself. Everybody always asks actors the same mundane questions.
I noticed that and also the way he slowly approached to her was kinda creepy.
I felt his segment with Dannica was very cringe.
He pushed it just a bit too far with her, he was more restrained with Fred.

I think it was awkward for Regis. I think the geometry made him feel uneasy.
He was crossing lines .. invasive and she was [polite sharp and strong enough to withstand it without losing her focus. Danika had a real grasp of life at a young age.
Regis was all up in her face... He would have made me uncomfortable. Especially when him and Kevin were walking and he just put his hand on his back for an awkwardly long time.
He's a close talker.
That teacher is thinking, "You serious Regis? I barely get any time with these kids as it is, their education could fail, and here you are, bothering us"

Interesting background to the show! The teachers on this show must’ve done a good job, because in real life, Josh became a lawyer and Danica wrote books on Math education.

Why do people keep putting the guy down, he's dead, have some respect, damn! He didn't seem creepy, he was just asking questions he was probably told to ask, it's called being a journalist or investigative reporter, maybe they don't like to ask those type of questions but their job wants them to.
I think Regis did a pretty good job and always had to lay the charm on thick, maybe too thick. He should have had more constraint when asking kids personal questions about love, though.

I didn't know about this show until it came on Nike at night in the mid 90s. And as a kid. I didn't really get that the show wasn't really in the 70s... so in my mind they look amazing for their age.
