Barboza is kind of at the point in his career where Cerrone was a couple years back. Losing to guys he would've smoked in his prime. Edson is now the old man in a young mans division. I think its time for either one or two "fun" fights or retirement for him. Sucks to see the old guard go out like this😔

I don’t think themba was using it as an excuse for a “poor performance” I took that as the reason he wanted to wrestle the whole fight was to honor his wrestling coach because he asked him to stay and he missed the final days he could’ve had with his mom and he’s pissed because he went through something similar and feels bad that he did that to someone he cares about. Nothing distasteful about that.
He was over explaining it tho. Dude had to get reminded his mom died like 5 times
And he gave us the worst fight of 2024 so far, thanks to that stupid tactic. And yes it was distasteful.

Barboza straight up looked like a shell of himself. Barely stuck with the leg kicks, not a single spinning head kick, and even his hands looked somehow worse. He got old seemingly overnight
He took a lot of baggage from the Yusuff fight with him against Murphy, he went through hell in his last fight and I think he’s probably finished
Murphy gave him no space, switch stances from Murphy killed the leg kicks and barboza tried a wheel kick but he slipped super bad and didn't want to do it again

Watched live and wasn't surprised that she won. She pushed a pace and I thought she was landing more and up on damage with the bleeding on her opponents face Decote was landing good counters but they weren't doing enough damage to sway the judges. Close fight honestly if guru picked Demopolis he wouldn't have an issue with the decision.

I swear, either something was wrong with Edson’s leg, or he was just uncomfortable with Murphy’s pressure with the jab and didnt want to risk getting hit, but he should’ve thrown more kicks. He hit him with a couple of heavy calf kicks and body kicks that would make murphy reset and back pff mentairuly, but then edson would keep going with the boxing where he was losing.

I dont care what anyone says, Garimbos fight style was atrocious. Zero urgency for a finish. If two rounds of the same shit goes on, the ref should be quicker to separate on the third round.
I think he didn’t because they’d end up right back there let’s be real, like I get it but it’s part of the sport, we can only hope he improves and trains for advancing those positions in future fights

The barboza disrespect is crazy. Lerone is just good. He also checked a few low kicks which probably hurt Edison’s leg, which is why he stopped throwing them. He didn’t look terrible , almost won in the first round too

Typically those fights have a lot more importance to the UFC in terms of who wins, and much more money on those fights from a betting perspective. Just so happens that those get stopped quick when the "right" guy is winning. I 100% believe Goddard gets kickbacks from his early stoppages.

Do you comment on Belletor or One. Last time I tried One the champ won a kickboxing match but apparently lost to the challenger. Now I try a Belletor fight and listen to Sonnet Pretend that mix controlled round five when Magamedov took the guy down to his knees.

Demopoulos by decision has been a money printing machine lol. They were still giving 5x on that lmao. I actually watched r1 and Ducote is so low volume that I know she lost at the that round. WMMA is always way too close in general to have big favorites except in very specific cases. Women can't damage eachother so volume and looking like you are hitting harder is all that matters.

I was MYSTIFIED as to why people put money on Edson before the beating and in hindsight i am twice as bewildered. Murphy looked like a fucking monster. I laughed SO HARD when some genius' tweet popped up at the beginning on RD 3 saying they had it "19-19". LMFAO Edson literally lost round one by a wide margin. He was basically still in the fight though until RD 2 where it became Murphy vs a human heavy bag.

Murphy realized round two he couldn’t take anymore low kicks. Every time Barabosa kicked his leg Murphy would pressure to heavy or switch stance and pressure. Edson could take the pressure and was to slow.
