I have owned this satchel for almost a year now. I love it. It's my EDC bag.
Nice review
Had it for quite a while as my every day carry to work. The two pockets on the inside are awsome for a small collapsible umbrella and a thermos mug. Like the outside compartment for bits and pieces. That is about the positive bits I have to say about it. Although I´m a pretty tall guy I still have problems to make the shoulder sling to get short enough for the bag not to bump on my butt all the time. The size of the bag is way too big; if I have to carry that much stuff I rather have a bag on my back. The shoulder strap have a snap buckle at each end but does not add any positive function.... Do not machine wash! Any big and bulky item, like a book, will travel down to the bottom and hit you at every step you take as the bag bounces. Sorry, this bag is retired to the back of my wardrobe.
nice bit of kit
nice video my bag should arrive today:)
A military poncho would be great to wear when you just carry this bag
I purchased the bag after watching your first vid, went with the gray model. Took it with me this past week for a short trip, it passed muster! Never heard about it or the company, thanks for turning us on to both. I did add the maxpedition shoulder pad, may not have needed it but got it any way. Looking forward to using it this summer, thanks again!
+w0dpd awesome glad you dig it. Now if helikon Tex would pay me. Lol
I added a shoulder pad to mine because I have a tendency to overload the bag... but learning better. It should not be overloaded because then you wind up shifting shoulder sides over and over for comfort. Excellent bag.
I have seen the bags and they do work well but like you said not water proof but repellent water a little with some spray on water proofing a little more so but leak thrue the zippers a lot but they do functions well to keep things fully dry you need to in close everything in zip lock bags but as for people asking how well they hold up when running even when I was in the Marines when we were on maneuvers thrue the forest or where ever even with a full pack we did not do a lot of running as you do not want to call a lot of attention to your self. I understand in a war zone you have to move fast but even then you carry as little extra weight as possible and that is strapped down as much as possible.
Very practical piece of equipment. Thank you for sharing. Take care and be safe out there. I look forward to your next video.
Nice vid, I like your honest approach.
That bag really turned out great! Plenty of room, and very durable can't go wrong!
I finally ordered me one of these. I think I may try and do a overnighter with it lol.
Cool bag. The possibilities. Thanks for the review. I enjoy your videos
+The Shanester thank you!
Also in the kit I would add a compass and some sort of food/meat getting items ( sling shot or something ) it would help make it more efficient and useful.
Wear a poncho when it rains. Covers you and your haversack
Love this bag bought a hidden woodsman excellent bag great quality but a bit to small for my needs this bag would be ideal for my purposes I want one
Great review, I think a waist strap like the maxped versipak has would make this bag perfect , maybe the 5.11 tier system would work for that
nice bag my friend
Looks like a nice bag ! :D
+Skills2Survive thanks!
Basics of the 5'c's good video i have a similar carry but in a British Army MTP respirator case.
Good Satchel review
ATB Del
+Prepper Del thank you sir
like the blue knee pad/rigidity idea, what is the material? looking to expand on that piece. maybe something for food prep, with some cutting resistance? any thoughs?
I've had and used the HT satchel for a couple years now. It's a great go-to bag. I've used it camping, hiking and for travel. I'd LOVE to see a zipper-in-the-rain test. It's the only thing 'sketchy' about the design... will the top zipper leak? Thanks!
that looks like a very versatile bag, looks like your tripod is about the same size as my small one
+Kaylynn Strain thanks for watching
nice sandwich
14. nice bag Jim kcmo
Maybe wax the zipper a bit might protect it from some slight rain?
Have you looked at a woodscraft haversack ? It comes nicely waxed
Good video
Is that the Roth of smock/anorak your wearing in camo? How's the fit and finish?
👍
SOLD!!! just ordered this and the kit bag..but could only get black. :(
You should use your HW orange mat. I use mine as a rain cover for my back amongst others uses
+Flinders Adventures good thinking
Great review too my friend
For me is this bag to heavy, I prefer my Essential Pack from Tasmanian Tiger. The weight of my equipment is then in the middle of my back and on my shoulders, for me is it much better, as with one shoulder strap.
Can i containe a4 format? or Big books?
great bag, I have been using mine for a few months now for days out with the kids in the woods and works a treat. quick question what were you using to put under your stove, is it something specific or just tin foil?
+john bibby its heavy foil.
Nice bag. Putting you on the spot here, but any thoughts on this bag vs. Hidden Woodsmen? Thanks
+cmliphone they are both great for different reasons. The satchel is lightweight and has some great features carrying your hatchet, knife and saw. It’s also bigger and hold more stuff. The Hidden Woodsmen is smaller but stiffer material and stands upright. You can’t go wrong with either but I like the Hidden woodsman a little more.
I'll trade my hidden woodsman haversack for one of these any day ...seriously if anyone wants to trade let me know
If you're carrying that much in a haversack, it's time to move to a small pack. That's going to wear on your shoulder badly.
How has this bag held up since you had gotten it? Wanting to get a haversack/satchel. Coming down to this or the hidden woodsman haversack. I like them both but if I can go cheaper I'm going to, I'm on a budget but want something that's gonna last and work.
+SC bushcraft backwoods it's held up very well. Very well made. Go for the helikon tex
The Prepared Wanderer that's good to know. I believe next pay period I'm going to pull the trigger on the coyote brown one. Give the wife my sog ninja pack for her car
The Prepared Wanderer thanks for letting me know. Subbed to your channel after watching this. Very informative on your gear
What is the name of the stove?§
Damned nice video. What is attached to the inner mesh pocket cord pull?
Joel Ohms mini flashlight
Noah Koenig thanks for the info.
Is that a GORE TEX MILITARY SURPLUS JACKET YOU ARE WEARING HERE??
on the zipper put on some candle wax that will keep out the rain I promise you, and it will keep it lubed. X special forces..
+Kent Viking thanks for the tip.
you're welcome
anytime ask I might have the solution
Can’t find the bag, everyone’s out off stock, what’s the deal?....
Hi. Thanks for the great review. I have a quick question, if you don't mind - what is the cup into which you put the Nalgene bottle? It fits in very well.
Heavy cover titanium cup
do you like this better than the becker bag?
I use the becker for urban EDC and the Helikon Tex for woods haversack.
