i spent hour listening to covers of joey yours was one of three, two that ive heard before, but yours was different, reason is the power of your voice, and i would love to hear a more refined version obvious you hadn't learned the song cause holding lyrics, but u have a strong voice and would like to hear a new version, even a rough studio take. with your drummer a little more tighter , i think you did excellent job you and your band i think you could really do a great version, studio would be ideal but however would love to hear your final version
That’s not her usual drummer and bass player, though Joe is Halestorm’s other guitarist. Her drummer/brother is amazing. I’d like to see Halestorm cover this, though I enjoy their original music. They’re really tight live.
I love Lzzy, but that was bad. Waayy too much rasp, and no nuance. She can do much, much better, and Johnette's fabulous rendition of this beautiful song deserves respectful treatment.
I am usually a fan but vocals are not good here. Why is Halestorm doing so many covers anymore? Doesn't have the bite of Johnette's voice. It seems like teying to hard and is just out of vocal range. Still a great song just not a good version here.
I wouldn’t say it’s weak, but it’s a jam, not pro. Lzzy’s better than this. I think of Lzzy as a pro, able to do anything vocally. Forcing a dirty vocal, even if it’s easy for her, is beneath her. She’s not straining, as the vocals in the song aren’t that high, they are just sustained. Gonna guess this is like a goof and a treat for her fans, so, whatever.
