Old Ireland 1956 - County Sligo

This video was recorded by my great uncle Myles Coen who came back to Ireland from New York in 1956. Mostly recorded in Gleann and Easkey/Rathlee Sligo. I know of a few people in the video but if you think you know anyone, drop a message in the comment section.

i just discovered this. Myles my gr uncle, his oldest brother PAT, my grandpa. I live in OHIO. Thanks!!!!!!!!! In the 70's i helped Michael with the hay, the baby brother of MYLES.

Hi I lived in Gleann as a child for a while in the 70’s. My stepfathers surname was Leydon. He would have been around 9/10 at the time this video I think. I remember the cottage being near the school. His eldest sister was called Mary she married & moved into the town. I stayed with her,fond memories.

Michael Coen, the short old man in this picture who lived there into the 1970's died this day May 19, 1977 I SURE WISH I COULD CONNECT WITH VINCENT WHO GOT THIS FILM ON UTUBE. Myles is also my gr uncle
