Not a single EZ play? You honestly can't say these are the best reading plays. Maybe Cookiezi's Chaoz Japan score belongs there but all others are nowhere near the best.
I'm not including EZ plays here, they belong in another video imo. And you're right, there's so many to choose from, this is just my opinion :)
Even if it is without ez, there is a lot of way harder plays to read... Furioso Melodia
+HD by Cookiezi for example, or half of old maps...
furioso isn't particularly hard to read
IMO furioso is easy to read but hard to hit

I agree. Also the fact that it has quite the punishing drain.. but the different stream-speeds are something that most top10k players should be able to handle, and jumps aren't particularly hard to read in general.
It’s crazy how the signification of the term « reading » has changed in 4 years, nowadays these maps would be considered tech/finger control maps
Personally, the only reading map on this list for me is Chaoz Japan, the patterns on the beginning are crazy hard for me to comprehend lol

Rrtyui's play was the hardest to read, not because of the map, but because of the skin

Eduard Keil simply because skins are a huge part of the game. Mostly why players use clean and aesthetic skins
I'm new on Osu!, Can somebody explain me what are the reading plays?
Basically I feel these plays required extremely good reading, these maps have some pretty extreme tempo changes that can be hard to predict to the player along with hidden notes that required some memory to hit

Mostly the spacing and patterns in combination with ar but these replays arent really hard to read except for the last one, idk
Oh phew. I thought it was the first time they played these maps. I was literally like O.o thinking they were doing inhuman things by sight-reading these things.

the chaoz japan is a big reading one tho
i don't know how can they spin on the clockwise, I always spin counterclockwise if i try the other way im slow af

porochu Retrying a map a load of times isn't going to make you just read it really well. You need to already be able to read the map to even pass it.

I agree that play is an amazing reading play, but any of his plays on the older maps are ridiculous, it was really hard to choose. I just went for the one with the highest pp

i understand this was 4 years ago, but the first score isn't really a reading score? don't get me wrong, its still impressive, ar11 burst and small cs jumps are difficult, but it's really easy to read.
none of these are reading scores. also the first play is like ar10

@@nolol9 ar6 dthr is not ar11. iirc, ar6+hr=ar8.4 ar8+dt=ar9.6, ar9+dt=ar10.3, so it's somewhere between 9.6 and 10.3, 10 is fairly accurate

I don't really agree with the dopamine pic. It's not really as reading intensive as it is just hard to do in general (Like matzcore). If it was my list i would switch it out with Cookiezi's Sticks and Stones play ( czcams.com/video/K8QnRTpNgm8/video.html ).

I'd say that it's more memorisation, don't get me wrong memory is a key part of reading, but since he couldn't see the notes before hitting them, I don't consider it a pure 'reading' play. :)

every map here is easy to read except #1. you should try adding hd and ez plays.
good (not exactly the best) choices would be plays from the map I Want You, Astrosexy, Chocobo, etc.

Reading is quite subjective, I have done EZ Plays in a separate video and HD adds more of a memory element into plays. No list can effectively categorize plays as most of what we perceive in plays is subjective
