but Have you ever tried to learn and practice your religion as per the teachings in the book not by the culture.
May be there is more religious freedom in your own religion then islam, Untill you dont practice you own religion as per your religious book you won't fit in any religion.
I'm not a Muslim but I'm fascinated about your guy's culture. I'm Christian tho and my uncles and aunts tend to fall away from the church because they think God won't forgive them for their sins which isn't true- but anyways I love how you guys say that if you pray and genuinely want to be forgiven and you won't do it again then your all good. Islam is open to human beings and Allah (or God) forgive sins you committed before you became Muslim. People from different faiths please read the Quran and see authentic knowledge about Islam so that you don't regret one day you didn't get chance to take the right decision. I took my Shahada in February. My Son was 13 when he started tattooing me.I have 11 years of my Son tattooing me and was scheduled for me.I canceled and now my Wife bought me compressions sleeves that cover alot of them so I can pray and attend Jumu'ah and feel a little better about it.

Everything we did wrong in past dat hurts mentality/physically (everything) either to humans, nature etc will get back to us one day. Hence Allah is fair, you were forgiven yet you must accept the kifarah, learn from mistake. If it didn't happen while you living, it happens in hereafter.

I also converted and have 4 tattoos from prior. I love them as they all have meaning to me that is special and deep. Do I feel bad that I have them? NOPE, Allah knows my intentions.
You shouldnt feel bad for having them. You had them, you can still have them after converting. Tattooing is such a regional thing in many Islamic countries.
It's fine sir, based on most Ulama agreement... once you took your Syahadah... all your sins was been forgave by Allah. It ok to remain it.

Someone I know he's Chinese has a tattoo of goddess covered his back, he converted to Islam doing hajj and said that he's amusing that none of the ppl looking him differently or judging while thawaf and sa'i he felt that time that really only god can judge us..

I'm a tattooed jew, and didn't technically convert (was born jewish but not raised observant), but this reminds me so much of conversations I've had with my Rabbi and tattooed gerim. I'm personally still getting tattoos, but I know many who are more observant than I am who viewed going to the mikveh at the end of their conversion process as transformation and forgiveness from g-d, and view their tattoos from before conversion as a reminder of the hard work they did through the process of conversion. Would love to see more on the conversion process as some aspects sound quite similar to ours!
I was born muslim,from malaysia. I dont hav any tatoos on me, but personally, i would not try to remove it, because i heard, its very very painful. Allah swt is the best of planner.

@@salmaefbs4449 if you're muslim, then having a tattoo is wrong and sinful.. but if you're not and just converted, then all previous deed will be write off.. as for tattoo.. if it's painful and cause u more harm than good, then you don't need to remove your tattoo.. it's not a fun fact.. it's just a fact.. Allah SWT is not cruel.. so as long as that someone sincerely repents on his past sins and won't do the same deed again then he is forgiven and as white & pure as baby..
My religion shared the value of not getting tattoos, but I always love seeing people in church with tattoos. Not only are some of them really cool but they always remind me of how different all of our pasts are and makes me wonder about their story.

@@iwant2haveu the verse you’re referring to is Lev. 19:28 which says “ye shall not make any cutting in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon yourself...” This was in reference to a common ritual in the area of self-mutilation and markings in order to commune with the dead. It definitely is a valid interpretation to say that means no tattoos, but it is equally valid to others.
