    To those complaining - it’s a CLOSE-UP lens, not a telephoto. It will not bring far off objects closer. Simply shifts the fixed focus of the GoPro a bit closer - ie, instead of a minimum distance of 12 inches, objects at 3-4 inches will be in focus. Just like the old +1, +2, +3 close-up lens we used to use on cameras with fixed lenses. It doesn’t deserve the one-star ratings when the user has no idea what it is used for.

    The sharpest focus is about 3 inches. Yeah, there's blur around the edges so your subject will have to be in the middle or close to it. And it's not a zoom.

    Nice video.
    At around 2:50 mark I noticed pin cushion distortion on the paper of the printouts. Was this shot in linear mode? Did you try other digital lenses (wide/narrow)? How did the distortion look with hypersmooth or horizon levelling?

    I have bought it. The optical quality is very very poor. The only sharp area is in the middle. Corners are soft and full od chromatic aberation.

    can I add this to my Gopro hero 9 then put my original lens back on and it will still be waterproof ?

    Cheers for that mate, I have been looking for a macro for the gopro in order to take closeups of the local wild flowers.

    Does it fit in the gopro underwater housing?

    • @aaronwebster3014

      Not very well- it's super tight and may break the dive housing glass because it touches the glass. I modified my dive housing by cutting out the black foam on the back door and carving away the plastic bits that hold this foam in place. Now it works better but still touches the housing glass

    Great video. Does this lens give you the same effect if you wanted to use it to vlog, or is it just too out of focus at “normal” distances

    • @jakeguitar01
      @jakeguitar01  Před 3 lety +2

      It is a bit out of focus at "normal" distances. It is only really good for close up filming, nothing like vlogging, unless you like to vlog with you camera very close to it's subject.

      Hi what distance is defined as “closeup”? I want to maintain about 7” distance from subject

    hey man sorry this isn’t about this video i had just watch a video you did ages ago, it was about the mouse trackpad and how it doesn’t click, i was going to put the sticky note below the battery which will work but i was just wondering, if the battery heated up would the sticky note over heat and burn or melt? thanks i would be really appreciative if you could get back to me

    • @jakeguitar01
      @jakeguitar01  Před 3 lety

      Funny you found me on this video... Anyhow, no the sticky note or any piece of paper for that matter should not ignite or melt. The flash point of paper is no where near the temperatures the battery will reach. Thanks for reaching out!

    what is the maximum distance after which things become blurred?

    • @jakeguitar01
      @jakeguitar01  Před 3 lety +1

      I'd say after about 12 inches, things begin to look super blurry.

    Thank you for this review regarding the JSU/QKOO 15X Macro lens for GoPro9&10. Just wanted to ask if you tested if the macro lens works with hypersmooth well? Because this reviewer told me it doesn't stabilize well (czcams.com/video/DSKdBV5lwD4/video.html).
    I'm also wondering if the results will be the same with this Macro lens (czcams.com/video/XOlCOhuifxo/video.html)?

    • @jakeguitar01
      @jakeguitar01  Před 2 lety

      I have not tried it with hypersmooth. However, this lens works very well!
