I have been hearing about Noam since I started teaching at the Old Town School of Folk Music 13 years ago. Finally I met him last year. Noam is fantastic, scary good, the best on the Planet right now they say, though it's hard at that level to make such a claims Bela Fleck has way more experience if Noam keeps going he will build on what Bela has done and will eventually be the best but I don't think any one could argue that Bela still holds the crown just from sheer experience. That said, I hear a depth in Noam's use of Scruggs that runs very deep maybe even deeper than Bela,
+Timothy Ryan Fisher I do not know if I would say Noam is the best or Bela is the best, but I found Noam but to my ear Noam is more musical. I was very lucky to see him play in a trio with Rob Ickes and Casey Driessen a few years back, but at that point I was so focused on Rob that I did not appreciate Noam.
Ever hear of Ryan Cavanaugh?!
Fantastic !!!!!
I’d add Mean Mary James into the mix as well
@@BrandtM84 No - but I've looked at what he has on here, and it's limited compared with the many styles and combinations that Noam can play." Maid behind the bar" is impressive, but it sounds like a tenor banjo played Irish style. See this for knowledge and virtuosity: czcams.com/video/XpUq6P5Avo8/video.html&ab_channel=Reverb
bravissimi
fire! john hughey country way up the banjo neck. ♫ approve, kenx
Darn good music partner
What do you get when you put to greats together?
That's right , great music
Fiddle Fiddle Fiddle !!!
You.. monster you!
Stuart Duncan is still the best. Is that Red he's playing?
What make/model of banjo is Noam playing on this one? It's beautiful!
stuart duncan is one of the best fiddle players in the country but that song is so damn fast no body can tell what the hell they are doing, im not even going 2 stay til the end by by...
This is slow bluegrass music
:::throws banjo in the trash::::
I’d say Noam is a frustrated guitarist and takes it out on the banjo, but he is also an awesome guitarist 😍
Fiddle n' Banjo (um, reverse that): nuthin' better! Noam tears it up (he owns this 'un) and Stuart struts his stuff. Nailed it cold!
Shit, Fuck, Wow! No words, other than swears.
What they do chromatically from 1:30 - 1:32 is probably illegal and should have never seen the light of bandwidth. 🤷🏻♂️
It was sick
It certainly is illegal. There should be a law against this.
The Bluegrass police will get them!
If music were only a technical exercise it would be the best version ever. But it's not, that's why in my opinion Bill Monroe 's version still remains the favourite one
