  • The Mosaic 12 String Guitar Effect Pedal by Digitech is one of Paul's favorite pedals. It simulates a 12 string guitar so it can be very useful if you want the sound of a 12 string electric guitar without having to bring one along or tune it on stage too! It' a fun and easy pedal to use and you can hear what it sounds like right here with Jim and mostly Paul. Enjoy.

    You can use a gate to cut off those longer trail clipping.

    Bought mine when they came out. I find it works really well into a Soul Food, clean boost too.

      Cool! Does that give it more high end pressence?

      @@funandeasyguitarwithjimpau9875 Yeah more presence and, I don't know , but it seems to compress it a bit too. I bought it originally to go with my Rickenbacker 330/6 but unfortunately it hasn't given me Roger McGuinn skills !

      @@shaunw9270 Roger McGuinn skills yess yes that we must aspire to. I have an old 330 in the shop now for frets and neck finish gonna cost more than new tires but hey if it gets me closer to McGuinn I'll be fine. Our next video is Jimmy Jazz by the Clash (Phase Shifter is the Behringer clone of a small stone). Thanks for watching.

    Straight in the front, or via the FX loop?

    At $200 and change, I'm not sure this is a total bargain at all, but, it does an ok job with a 6 string electric. Otherwise you can get a cheaper 12-string and just deal with
    learning how to properly string, set up and tune one, it's worth it in my opinion. The only time it's an asspain is A. putting new strings on it, I take my time and B. doing any
    open or alt. tunings with it. Otherwise, I keep my 12-string down a whole step, at all times, and just use a capo.

    what's it like on a six string semi acoustic regards

    • @thiscorrosion900
      @thiscorrosion900 Před rokem +1

      I heard it wasn't so good on an acoustic guitar, a few people tested it on here with one, and it was very lame sounding.

      @@thiscorrosion900 I presume that may be the case if the acoustic's sound is acquired via a microphone, then fed into the mosaic, as opposed to a standard pickup.

    • @thiscorrosion900
      @thiscorrosion900 Před 7 měsíci

      @@olenfersoi8887 I see, yeah that sounds like it would make sense. A regular pickup might be fine.

    I'd like to hear the real 12 string through the Mosaic.

    • @olenfersoi8887

      This is effectively a chorus pedal. Hence, playing a 12 string thru it would give a third octave overlay i presume.

  • @stevegardiner8473
    @stevegardiner8473 Před rokem +1

    I think the G string also has an octave string, not a unison string.

    • @thiscorrosion900
      @thiscorrosion900 Před rokem +1

      On a real 12-string, yes, the G has an octave string. Except the 1 million times it breaks on you, which is often, so you can put a double standard width G
      on there and it's just as good. I do that a lot.

    • @olenfersoi8887
      @olenfersoi8887 Před 7 měsíci

      I agree...though, as someone has mentioned, the higher octave G seems to break often, so it is an idea to just double the lower octave.

      What if I used 13 gauge strings and used this pedal and played it through a looper then switched to 8 gauge strings and looped over the 13 gauge strings?
