  • Jordan Lake offers more than 14,000 acres to enjoy a variety of water activities. Research has shown that being near or in water can increase our overall sense of well-being and contentment. Whether it's for play, exercise or friendly competition, swimming or kayaking in Jordan Lake is a great way to beat the heat during North Carolina’s long, hot summer and boost your fitness in the process.
Funding for Ten to Try is provided by the PATH Initiative and the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.

Be advised that the sailboat launching beach at Jordan Lake's Vista Point has new signage and restrictions will be enforced this year. The beach is for launching multi-hull sailboats and swimming is not allowed. Dogs must be kept on leash and all visitors to the beach must yield to sailboats. Sailboats have fine edge rudders and daggerboards below the waterline and anyone in the water should be aware that collision with a sailboat can result in serious injury. The sailboat launching beach is not a good area for swimming.

Motor boats should not be allowed in the lake. People drink and swim in this water.
