i hate steering wheel and lack of steering pressure feedback through wheels and car weight ditrubution change as car is turning. lotus evora gt v6 sounds argueably better than this, seee savagese video. lotus evora circular steering wheel also makes drifting easier, and can play around with wheel position beyond griping sides of wheel. freepiston with electric power output would make it maybe even less weight for agility and speed, quicker and weight lower to ground so it can handle more speed around turns, electric immedeate torque, perfectly smooth torque vectoring, possibly a unique engine sound and because combustion sets of 2 combustions pieces can be packagable like ev batteriers with greater effiency, it could be smaller package fitting into a final edition lotus elise.. smaller car means more play space on road. could sound like a flat 6, see ferrari 312 flat 12 sound in engine simulator, with clear sharp sound , see worlds best sounding cars carmudgeon show podcast at 20 minute 20 seconds. also see gordon murray test car sound at gordon murray utube channel. possibly it souldnt even weigh as much as it did in lexus lfa to have a full sound box.

Once I drove like that in a Corvette on a similar road. Then out of nowhere a Ford Ranger popped out in front of me from a side street. And that was that. I ended up going through the glass t-top but luckily everybody got to live. The repair shop I worked at had garage keepers insurance and covered the Corvette which belonged to the client, not me. Nice right? Anyway, this video reminded me EXACTLY of that unfortunate day. My unsolicited advice, don’t drive like an idiot. You have surprisingly little control when random situations occur.

Agree totally. The majority of operators of these types of cars have no inkling of any clue as to what they are doing. Amateur doesn't even to begin to describe the operators. By the way, I don't know where you live, but I commute through new Jersey, the nation's worse drivers, I've seen many totalled hellcats on flatbeds. FFS, These are brand new cars. I can see clearly the fender markings on the inside, cuz the body panels look like crushed tin cans. Look . I'll stick to my luxury classic cars.

A killer car. Very reasonably priced considering its extreme level of performance.
Man for 140k-150k (spec’d) there is literally nothing that can compete besides R8’s basically. But even the V10 plus still has 60 less horsepower. The only “new” car roughly around that price that has more power is the GT500. But the GT500 isn’t a mid engine “super car” so, this new Z06, literally in a class of its own

Yeah a GT500 is going to be slapped silly on the race track against even the base Z06, same with a drag strip. The z06 already hits 10.5s without vht

I’m tired of people saying “for the money”. You not giving the car it’s justice by implying it’s not as good as whatever because they didn’t charge you 400,000$. News flash. i still don't understand why this car gets compared to the 458 so much, this car is newer and much faster while the 458 came out ten years ago and is a gorgeous italian exotic, they are completely different cars
because theyre both mid engine high rpm flat plane v8 cars, they both sound very similar, both intended for the same purpose and have the same basic shape of every other modern mid engine car

Someone supercharged the C8 Stingray with the standard V8 and it was a beast. Maybe it was Hennessy? I think they used a “Procharger” set up. Check CZcams - I think that’s where I saw it. You could probably save a bundle and add your own blower package when it becomes available. That’s what I did with my truck.

The ZR1 is expected to arrive with a twin-turbocharged variant of the LT6 V-8, which will wear the LT7 internal moniker. That engine is expected to provide at least 850 horsepower, and will likely be mated to an 8-speed Tremec dual-clutch transmission. It isn’t a leap to expect that the turbocharged motor will feature similar exhaust geometry. We also already know that E-Ray will retain the 6.2-liter LT2 V-8 from the Stingray, and as such will likely feature an outboard exhaust.

Absolutely incredibly amazing how much performance and transition automatic transmissions have improved and become over the years. I remember my first notice was of the new '93 5.7L v8 Chev Camaro LT automatic when racing them in my '91 5.0 (errr 4.9L) v8 Mustang LX like it had the speedy shifting of manuals/sticks (which have now lost the edge as the superior faster transmission).

Finally someone else said it. "458 sounding engine" which isn't bad people to this day prefer the 458 to the 488 because of the NA flat plane v8. People was up in arms when I said it a while back but its a compliment.

GM has said they benchmarked the 458 as their goal for the exhaust note. I’ve not seen a single reviewer that hasn’t mentioned it yet. It’s, in my opinion, the main reason to buy the car at all.

Tadge; the chief engineer for Corvette stated he benchmarked two cars. The Ferrari 458 for sound and the Porsche GT2 RS for performance.
I was saying that too when I heard shorts of the ones with the camo on them I was like... This literally sounds like a 458 and told my coworker about it. He said it sounds different but not exotic like a ferrari and that I'm bugging. Glad to see I am not on my own on this.

Besides the C7 the Z06 had always been about maximum performance from a naturally aspirated motor kudos to GM for coming out with this one.
I hope so considering the size of the engine, and then they supercharge it.

GM began using the 5.5l flat plane crank v8 in the C6.R in 2010, which was mentioned in the video. The gearing and dual clutch transmission technology first appeared, in popularity, in the 2009 Nissan GTR. The reason it accelerates so hard is because of its gearing. I have read some of the comments stating that this Z06 would destroy the GT500 regarding acceleration.
Firstly, the Shelby GT500 is much cheaper than this car. The base Z06 msrp is $127k, and the fully equipped z07 packaged z06 is $166k. The base price for a Shelby GT500 is 78K, and the CFPT model is under 100k. The rolling performance is dead even with the Z06: 30-50mph top gearing was 2.0s for the Z06 and 1.9s for the GT500 & both cars went from 50-70 top in top gear in 2.2s. The Z06 is running 10.5 quarter miles @ 131, which is much faster than the Shelbys 11.3s @ 131s-134s, but 0-150 and 0-170 times are attained quicker the Shelby, due to how the Z06 is geared. Also, the power to weight ratios of both cars are about identical, in fact the Z06 z07 has a sightly better power to weight ratio to the base gt500.
The Z06 is awesome and priced about right, but preference is in the eye of the consumer. I can't wait to see how the Z06 does at the track with Randy Pobst behind the wheel.
John your MSRP is a little off. The base ZO6 starts at $105K not $127K. $106K is the base price with destination charge.

The Porsche 911 GTS does 0-60 in 2.78 secs w/AWD. The ZO6 (2.2 secs) is a badass in 2WD form. I read that the GM sourced double clutch 8 spd transmission specific to the vette, shifts faster than the 7 spd PDK in the 911. This days a lot since Porsche wrote the book on this transmission design and uses it in its racing program. I still can’t believe GM built this car and I’m fortunate to see it and maybe even buy it in my lifetime. Bravo GM.

PDR results should always be taken with a grain of salt and are known in the Corvette community to be inaccurate. Did you notice that the ET from the PDR didn't match up with the slip? Secondly, Parker claiming 2.2 in the title of his video is disingenuous because of the above. Why didn't he show us? As it stands now, it's pure clickbait. I know these CZcamsrs all use it to some degree but this title crossed the line as there are no official publications that have replicated Emelia's run. Putting a crazy 0-60 time in your title and then not even doing a run is just stupid.

Emilia did 0-60 in 2.2 according to the PDR on a track prepped surface in California a few days ago on her way to a 10.51 or 10.47 1/4 mile.

this guy knows sports cars. I rarely see anyone driving around in PA in a car like that, but at those speeds who isn't someone being reckless. I half thought a deer might poke him, or another vehicle coming out because he was coming on so fast. Beautiful car however.

I don't know much about this C8, but I know I like the looks, I like the specs and with its mid-engine configuration it has leaped into the world of European supercars for a quarter of the cost. Hope they offer a manual transmission. Good onya Chevrolet.

My dream car has been a C6 Z06 for awhile now but the C8 Z06 seems to be a worthy choice to concede the top spot to. I'm still buying a C6 but I could see the C8 being the natural step up in the future. ( Sorry for the C7 fans but it just wasn't for me ).
