  • I kept seeing this Sling Puck board game on social media over and over. It looked like a really fun game to play and a very easy woodworking project to build. I decided to make one - well, two actually. I wanted to make one that is basic for beginning woodworkers and another that is a little more challenging with pinstripes and an epoxy base. On the first game board, I used simple joinery, like butt joints. I glued it up, sanded, drilled some holes and put a finish on it. Done! It came out great and plays really well. On the Deluxe version, I decided to kick it up a notch with some miter joints, rabbet joints, and dado joints. I also add some pinstripes (inlay) using starbond adhesives. This was my first time trying this with the CA Glue and it really turned out awesome! After the CA Glue dried , which was instantly, I sanded it smooth. I proceeded to put the frame together and glue it to the base. The frame acted as a form for the @TotalBoat Table Top epoxy that I poured on top of the base. After the epoxy sat overnight I finished putting the rest together. There was not much left to do - just drilling a couple of holes for the elastic cord and gluing on the divider with the goal.
    Both of the game boards were really fun to build. I enjoyed experimenting with Starbond
    CA Glue, trying to see if I could make the pinstripes. It worked out great! So, go ahead and give it a shot and build one, if you are feeling confident enough go for the Deluxe version. This Sling Puck game is super fun to play, too, so building one is well worth it.....
    But, if you just want to play the game go ahead and order one on Amazon amzn.to/3o6EOZ5 , because like I said, it's super Fun!!!

    Fun build, Mike! Nice job! I'd use Oreos for my pucks and I'd make them disappear in an easier more delicious way. :)

    You should make the pucks! Different color woods. Three different sizes to make it even more challenging! Just a thought! New to your channel from a recommendation from Andrew Klein!

    Really cool my kids would love one of those. Quick question you never mentioned the puck size. Standard diameter dowel or did you turn them on the lathe? Thanks

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  Před 3 lety +2

      You can definitely turn them on the lathe, but I just bought them on amazon. there is a link in the description below the video . I would have turn them but I wanted to get them out for Xmas.
      They are roughly 1/2" tall x 1 1/2" dia. Thanks for watching.

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  Před rokem +1

      The ones I have are 1 1/2 in diameter and roughly 7/16 in think. I used wooden checker. Here is a link to something similar amzn.to/3gefQIb. Hope this helps.

      Regarding the hole for the bungee - it looks like the hole is drilled 2" from the inside of the back wall. One other question - how high above the playing field is the hole for the bungee drilled?

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  Před rokem

      @@brucej1010 so yes the bungee is 2 inches from the back wall. As for the height of the bungee…. What I did was measured the thickness of the pucks and divide it in half then add a 1/16 th so the string is favoring the top half of the puck. For example if the puck is 1/2”thick divided by 2 is 1/4”+1/16= 5/16” up from the floor. Hope this helps. Would love to see a pic of the finished game… email me one if you want to…
      Thank
