Even though death has not been shown in my life yet I fear it for some reason, everyone that I know has not died even my great grandmother. She is the strongest person I know but idk why I fear it. Humble piece of advice that helped me to love the word. When you get born again, read the book of Ephesians as it reveals your new found identity in Christ and other epistles. Then you can start the Old Testament, it will be easy for you to understand the Old Testament through the eyes of Christ and also through your new identity. Be aware that in Old Testament, there are traditions, culture, and the relationship between God and man was that man needed to do things to get to God or to please him, in the New Testament the relationship is different in a way that God has done everything and man receives. Old Testament simply means old relationship and New T. New relationship. Old Testament is Jesus concealed and New Testament is Jesus revealed. Blessings
Tee Browne Yes!! I like to add the book of John so you can get to know who HE is. Then remember that He is the same God in the Old Testament. He’s multi faceted and it’s sooooo important to understand who we are to Him and He to us when growing in our relationship with Him. One thing that speaks so strongly to me, is how Jesus wept when He heard Lazarus died. He mourned His FRIEND. We are also his friends!! How He loves us🥺🥰🙏🏻🙌🏻

sunday candy God knows you and knows your heart. If you are a born again believer, know that He is in you and you are in Him . You are in a union that is inseparable. Whether you feel it or not you have to know this and remind yourself, He’s with you always. If you want to hear Him more, keep your bible open and read and meditate I can guarantee you that you will know Him like never before and enjoy Him. One scripture I use to pray before reading the word is Ephesians 1:17 pray that the eyes of your understanding be opened in the knowledge of Him. Watch and see he will give you revelation after revelation God bless you

My favorite way to study the word is start at the beginning and read until the end. Such an eye opener after years of picking 1or 2 versus out of the bible.
I think this is really inspirational! I struggle to study the bible so these are helpful ideas. I do have one thing to say, though, and I promise I'm not hating! I would be wary of using the NIV alone for study because I know of at least one section where a verse is missing. In Matthew 17 it omits the 21st verse altogether. I'm not saying you should throw it away completely, but definitely have a bible with allthe verses in it as well!
Agreed. Bible hub is helpful, or downloading the Greek/Hebrew Interlinear app breaks down every word, and is also very very helpful in studying The Word, and includes all verses, even omitted ones. Happy studying my beloved sisters!! :-)

The best way to study Bible is to read it from beginning to end. Its chronologically written and you will remember it effectively if u read it from the beginning.
Yes I agree, I usually see people saying to read from the new testament first but the old testament is the foundation for the new testament and will help you understand it better
i use something similar to the Harvest Family Fellowship sermons called enduring word! most of you have probably already heard of it but i love it because it breaks down the bible verse by verse and goes into a lot of detail:)

I just started working w the bible and I am glad to see you say that no color coding is really required. I have obsessive compulsive personality disorder and its easy for me to overcomplicate things to the degree they can't be used which is self destructive and I don't want to continue that way.
Saying that you wake up and grab your bible inspired me to do the same, and now I always have time to read and can’t put it off or feel guilty for forgetting because I grab my bible first thing in the morning! ❤️

OMGOSH I’m so glad I found this vid. I have the Bible app but I’m basically new to it all and don’t know what I’m doing and don’t know how to study and break things down properly. I’ve now looked up harvest family fellowship so that I can also watch a bible study and so that I will be able to get more out of it and hopefully to understand more. I’m from the UK d I’m trying to look for a church that is truly suitable and one that does real bible based sermons. So finding you and then being able to also watch bible studies online too is a true blessing that I’ve found today. Thank you for sharing.
I used to bring sticky notes with me to church and I would put down the scripture the preacher chose and then write down the theme/title of the message and the date that they preached. It was really helpful to look back on and much easier to remember things, you can also take a notebook and do the same and write down everything that stands out to you and speaks to you so when you go back and read through you get reminded of what God was saying to you that day and he may speak to you again through those little notes.

It was really helpful to look back on and much easier to remember things, you can also take a notebook and do the same and write down everything that stands out to you and speaks to you so when you go back and read through you get reminded of what God was saying to you that day and he may speak to you again through those little notes.
Try putting a towel over your devotional and iron over the wax. The towel will pull it up! It’s magical!
