AU description:
The events of the game happened prior to this story, about 1.000 years.
So, for those characters with a normal life span/mortal, they eventually got reborn due to a failed experiment of the Raiden Shogun when she was still looking for a way to eternity.
Not all of them died of old age. Some were killed when the unknown God appeared in Teyvat
The only known Archons remaining are the Dendro Archon, Anemo Archon, and the Electro Archon.
The public only knows the real identity of the Electro Archon.
Morax never revealed the fact that he was still alive after he faked his death.
The other Archons and Adepti thought he faked his death to retire, not knowing the real reason.
After all, they knew that he stayed in Liyue as Zhongli until he disappeared without a trace. After a while, the remaining Archons believed that Morax was gone for good.
Before Zhongli disappeared tho, he handed a book over to Nigguang, which was a plan for an academy he designed as Morax.
So, she created the Teyvat academy in the name of the Geo Archon for young people to study all kinds of subjects and learn how to be more proficient with their visions.
Due to the influence of the outside world, villains fleeing to Teyvat, they needed to install the hero/villain system like the rest of the world.
Other countries don‘t understand why the people of Teyvat are worshipping the Archons as they are for them „only“ the strongest pro heroes of Teyvat, as they do not believe in gods and such.
This caused issues between Teyvat and the other countries, resulting in Teyvat to isolate itself and closing it‘s borders to outsiders.
