This was great. When i quit the JWs i realized i knew nothing about the development of the church. I appreciate your honesty and integrity giving this talk. Got nothing like it at all in the JWs they just quoted the Watchtower.

Jewish Christianity is so hard to wrap your brain around with all that happened but this man explains it so well and puts order to disorder!

“There is no way to make a perfect copy by hand”.
    Eye opening statement.
Puts NT MSS variations in perspective.

13:57 - Where did it say any of those groups is accepting Paul? Genuine question.
    Edit:
7:43 - I suppose here? But I wonder how they could have accepted Paul's words but still be strictly Torah observant? I understand even currently there are people that do this, but it's still is puzzling to me.

Think I’ll check out Ryan Reeves on church history. I recommend The Lost History of Christianity by Philip Jenkins. Mark Noll church historian is another good resource. Michael Kruger is another resource.

Talk about a "hostile witness"... "Oneness" is belief in Jesus as the most high God residing in the flesh, not .333 or .666 of God. It is quite contrary to the idea of modes in general. Instead it is a restorative response to Trinitarianism, which crept in with frigid Orthodoxy.
