    Glendronach Single Casks are phenomenal and very well sherried. Great quick hitter Scott. I've got my 1992 vintage one ready for my birthday soon!

      2 Glendronach 1993 single casks went on sale today at the Green Welly Stop - Pre Order. Sold out in 2 hours, that's probably about 1300 bottles at £190 a go which makes it 250K spent on whisky in 2 hours. Totally insane......

    Hey Scott! Thanks for this review! Aren't some older Glendronach''s just simply stunning like this one? I had almost the same experience with an independent caskstrength bottling from 1995, just blew me away so good! Slàinte!

    Scott, the color looks like maple syrup. Glendronach is such a great distillery. I purchased my 1995 19 yr Px Puncheon cask #4028 a couple years ago from TWE for $134.00 and now they just sell out quickly. I'm curious, my friend was able to find a Compass Box Circus for $300.. Did you happen to grab the General? Great review.

    • @ScotchTestDummies

      Scott was the General epic! I will never know how the General will compare to the CIrcus, but I will certainly enjoy drinking the Circus and the Flaming Heart 15th Anniversary of which I just picked up.

    I was fortunate to get 16 yo single cask PX for under $80 a year ago and it stays at the top of my list ever since. It feels almost like concentrate, like it was squeezed directly from the wood of the barrels. By the way, I tried 10 and 11 yo distilled after 2002 and they are completely different. More bourbon taste than sherry.

    Old microphone better. I guess everyone has already mentioned that.
    You could probably take the new microphone and place it on the table about 2 feet away and that might be worth a try.
    Sorry if the mic cost a lot.
    I'll have to listen to this a second time to hear what you're saying. I'm distracted by the mic.
    Cheers!

    • @ScotchTestDummies
      @ScotchTestDummies  Před 6 lety

      i didn't know you have to adjust settings with it. the camera and the mic together were on 10 both separately, so that makes it like 20 when combined. I have to change settings which I didn't realize. future ones won't be as bad.

    • @ScotchTestDummies
      @ScotchTestDummies  Před 6 lety +1

      Probalby this, but this is a sherry bomb! The Balvenie has some sherry but is much more refined and aged and brings more layers. I love the sherry bombs! Scott

  • @travisfaircloth
    @travisfaircloth Před 6 lety +1

    Yeah nice review Scott! Glad you liked it... I knew that would get a high score. It's really hard to beat that imo as far as sherry goes. Did you compare it side by side to the '94 PX?

    • @ScotchTestDummies
      @ScotchTestDummies  Před 6 lety +1

      lol. The px '94 is good too, but it's a little different. It's sweeter and has more milk chocolate notes.

    Scott, fantastic review as always buddy. I've been a fan of the Glendroanch's for the past year and must say that they've been the best distillery that I've tried (and i've tried a lot). I have a couple of the 12,s 15s, 18s, 21s and all are fantastic. Way better than the Macallan line and also more affordable. What is your favorite from Glendronach and have you tried the Tawny Port and Virgin Oak versions yet? Trying to get my hand on those as well as the one you just had. Cheers!

    • @ScotchTestDummies
      @ScotchTestDummies  Před 6 lety

      the 21 Parliament (outside of this one). i did a flight just last night of the 12, 15, and 21 and the 21 kicks A! I love the Glendronach line too, but sherry is my kryptonite! thanks Michael.

    • @michaelmanganiello8209
      @michaelmanganiello8209 Před 6 lety +1

      I'm with you Scott! Thinking of stocking up on some more 21s and 18s as I figure they will jump in price in the near future. One last question: I've see both of your Bruichladdich Black Art reviews with Bart. I'm really intrigued and am close to pulling the trigger as I found a place online that sells the 4.1 for $350. Do you think it's worth it at that price point? I'm more of a sherry drinker (but have open up to the Ilays like yourself!) and wanted to know if its in that wheelhouse? Thanks again!

    • @ScotchTestDummies
      @ScotchTestDummies  Před 6 lety

      The 4.1 is worth that. Several reviewers have noted liking it better than the 5.1. There is no peat in it either. Its rich and sherry based.
