I was actually part of the team from the American Embassy who arrived in Lockerbie the night of the crash and was interviewed on this show on the Friday morning after the crash. I helped with the initial response to the crash and was there for three days before being relieved by others. This event had a profound effect on me, although nothing like those who lost loved ones. It is never far from my thoughts.

All those people with the cocky comments, should perhaps read about all the volunteers from Lockerbie who took the time to find all the belongings, packed them back in to the relevant suitcases and passed them back to the relatives of those who were murdered that day. If of course you can look away from your phones and stop taking selfies. Different priorities.

So much destruction and tragedy. And to think this all happened a few days b4 Christmas, and a few months after the Seoul Olympics? What a tragic way to end the year. I can only imagine what a sad Christmas a lot of families must have had back then.

A boy was lying at the bottom of the steps on to the road. A young laddie with brown socks and blue trousers on. Later that evening my son-in-law asked for a blanket to cover him. I didn't know he was dead. I gave him a lamb's wool traveling rug thinking I'd keep him warm. Two more girls were lying dead across the road, one of them bent over garden railings. It was just as though they were sleeping. The boy lay at the bottom of my stairs for days.

I recall the night of the first report. Completely shocked! I think I remember the reports saying that Flight 103 was late leaving Heathrow. The device detonated over Lockerbie, instead of the North Atlantic, where wreckage, bodies and evidence would have been much more difficult to locate. As some have said, it must have been a terrible Christmas for the families and relatives of those who died. Never forget the good people of Lockerbie and those aboard Pan Am 103.

@Icarusdecending82 - I dont think you have been paying attention. Do you think the violence that started in Egypt was random? It was caused by 4 sources. 1 the Banks who starved the countries in protest of money causing a crash. 2 tue USA destabilised Egypt and had pre planned this 3 years ago. 3 The British SAS are now in Libya freeing Brits but also involved in covert missions. This occurs after BP gained exclusive access to Libyas oil fields and after RBS was bailed out by Libya

@mcwolfus Not only was Mr On'Neil caught on CCTV, there is an audio tape of the discussion with someone in the CIA. This evidence is why they let Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, not to mention a massive bail out of British banks. You can rant and curse all you want. Clearly you have not read up on the subject or read the official suppressed court papers but you feel you have the need to insult those who have researched the topic in depth.

@mcwolfus - So if you cared as you claim you do, you would want to see justice right? Justice means the truth, a full investigation without cover ups, lies or false paid CIA witnesses to frame others. This has been spoken of by highly educated lawyers with degrees, UN scientists, explosive experts all who agree that Magrahi did not blow up the plane. So I will not argue with you because experts who have done their research and who are highly qualified are all in agreement on the matter.

After the Zebrugge ferry disaster in 1987 I remember they ditched the opening titles and just went straight to Frank Bough at the news desk. Maybe that was due to the fact Breakfast Time was airing on a Saturday, as they usually never aired any weekend editions.

i dont agree with the releasal of the guy, i htink another case should of been held. but it was'nt only the scots who released him, it was britains decision, the scots decision goes through the british parliament too, and gordon brown didnt go against it he just sat there and let it happen. there was no proper evidence against him, and the guy who had stated he had seen the accused had seen a picture of him in a magazine, making the evidence compromised.just my opinion.
