Grand Trunk Road is Asia's one of the oldest highways, dating back to at least 2,500 years. It's length is 3,000 km+ & runs between Chittagong, Bangladesh and Kabul, Afghanistan.
NH44 is the longest highway in India with 3,600 km. It runs between Srinagar, J&K and Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu.

My home is just beside GT road,I literally raised on this road...it was 20 years ago in early 2000..I vividly recall this was a single road.The trees beside the road were 500 years old from the era of mughal badshah Sher Shah. Then started the Golden Quadrilateral project under former PM Late Shri Vajpayee and the road started to spread it's wing like the international standards..The most beautiful academic life which is my school life passed through this road. With friends I used to travel, 50 paisa was the fare for 4 km..used to ride on the roof of the busses and racing...aah the sweetest memories!

Sir ji I have house in village adjacent to service road nh44( elevated 4lanes), Telangana. What happens if this 4 lanes will b converted to 6 or 8 lanes, will they lay new road in different route? Will they just expand d existing road(if so then most village will vanish)? And when do you expect expansion of this road (4 lanes laid 10 yr back)? ...any how as usual nice video👍👌.. Thanks

because of the type of traffic even on expressway you will find traffic and high speed limit can cause accidentss i guess thats the reason
@@hackhack9034 in small roads, yes, the traffic is horribly congested in India. But highways in India seem empty most of the time. And still, the speed limit is only 70-80kph max. In most other countries, the traffic is so much more on highways and the speed limit is usually 100-120kph
