She lost her bending, she lost her lives, she lost her history and light, she even almost lost her mind. Korra may not have ended the one hundred year war, but she has saved the world in more ways than one. She brought a sense of equality to the world, she brought back the spirits and changed the whole plain of existence, leading up to a whole new spirit portal in the process, restored the history of the airbenders and United the earth kingdom and brought a final balance to the world. Korra suffered and lost so much, but she forgave herself and everyone around her and moved on strong than ever.
Like I said, she didn’t end the 100 year war, but she is still an avatar that changed the world.
for real she literally went through so much yet people still call her weak??? it doesn’t make sense she was such a cool character too

A lot of people doesn't like this series because it's different from its predecessor: Korra made differents and hard choises because it was necessary in her opinion. If you truly think about it, it's the same thing that happens to everyone: the purpose in our lives is let others listen to our ideas to be, at the end, understood.
I think ATLA was good at the time when I was 9-12 years old when I saw it, now that I'm 19 I can relate a lot more to people who are a bit older than Aang, people like Iroh, Zuko, and Korra.
I love the plot twists in Korra, but I disliked a lot the rushing pace to end every season. It felt artificial

The Problem is everybody is too much based on Aang, but also he did things different than the previous avatars and so did Korra
@@paullechermann1263 True, but Avatar was very consistent during its seasons with very little, if any, pacing issues on story telling.
In Korra, a LOT of character arcs get destroyed because of pacing.
- The friendship between Bolin and Korra that was shown in Season 1, never returned. Even though they had such good chemistry(as friends, seriously, think Asami and Korra had good chemistry? Their conversations and adventures were boring compared to what Bolin and Korra did)
- The relationship between Mako and Korra felt very forced, it felt like Korra and Mako ended up dating because Korra wanted to.
- Zaheer, probably the best villain in ALOK, was given spiritual enlightenment that only airbenders could achieve. Yet, even in his story there is plot convenience with Aiwei somehow also being able to enter the spirit world at will, without being an airbender. It's been confirmed over, and over, and over, and over again that airbending is the only form of bending capable of crossing worlds. Water, fire and earth had different spiritual aspects to them, but crossing into the spirit world itself never was part of that.
- Then pretty much every single season ending with a Deus Ex Machina, season 1: Korra gets her power back through Aang, somehow, even though Aang is 100% dead and previous Avatar spirits cannot bend unless they (temporarily) take control of the current avatar's body. Season 2: suddenly Korra can become a giant spirit herself, without ever using anything like that ever again. Season 3: somehow regaining conciousness after she has already been confirmed to be out and the poison having done its job, but Korra somehow has to be the one to take out the villain. Season 4: sudden spirit energy being bended. Which was established as a new form of energy the entire season long, but suddenly its the same energy the portals are being made of? Sure, Aang had a Deus Ex Machina with defeating Ozai too, but that was the only one in the entire show.
- Not even including the fact that Mako and Bolin didnt even feel part of Team Avatar anymore, and only appearing when they were needed. Seriously, why boast them as being part of Team Avatar when the last time they did anything together, was when Unalaq merged with Vaatu?
- The tournament style fighting as shown in Season 1? Never really returns. It might be a bit Dragonball/Naruto style to have tournaments, but it actually felt nice to have every member in Team Avatar have an equal role in bending.
- The political drama? Never returns, it was really interesting to see the Avatar be part of the counsel in a major city. Even if it was for brief moments.
There is a whole list on why people can objectively call Legend of Korra to be worse. People are mad at it because it could have been better. It's a sequel that has so much potential and showed so many new things that were really fun to explore, but never returned. They just kept adding new stuff to a point where it felt like the only reason the story was continuing was to add more shit that never appeared before.
Dont get me wrong, I love Korra's story, but it simply doesnt meet the standards that ATLA has set up. I can rewatch ATLA at least once a year and still enjoy myself. I cant watch ATLK more than once every 3 years because there is simply too many unnecessities fit into every episode with a lot of retcons that simply dont fit the narrative. I mean, why are there 0 fire benders and 0 water benders that entered the spirit world? You might say Iroh did it, but if Iroh did it the same way Aiwei and Zaheer did, how come he never did it again? How come he never met up with Aang in the spirit world? If everyone can do it, then what sets airbending apart other than blowing winds? Fire has lighting and lava, water has healing and bloodbending, earth has metalbending and seismic sense. What does air have? It used to be spiritual enlightenment and flight. But taking one of those away and giving it to every other element simply doesnt fit.
Why didnt Zaheer meet up with Aiwei and the other Red Lotus members in the spirit world during their imprisonment if its not related to airbending?
I clicked the video like, how can something be sad, emotional and calm at the same time? But it just is, ATLA and LoK my friends
Honestly, many will disagree with me and be quick to be a hardcore ATLA fan but for me LoK resonated with me more on an emotional level. Her struggles, her loss and her gains at the same time. I personally love LoK most.
Emotionally only, but on the other sides, like the characters, story craft, events, it's full of crap and irrational nonsense.

That had to be the best episode in that season, albeit be poorly animated, but it at least elevated that season whose ending do not differ from the repetitive, cliché ending which you surely have seen recursively. (If a you're casual viewer to animation shows)

For me TLOK hit me on a much more emotional level, I won't go into the details of that. ATLA was obviously awesome I found Korra to be the journey of emotion to help me get through mine. I live both with all my heart.
The answer to why these shows hit different nerves in different people. If you struggle to know who you are, or who you're "suppose" to be, then TLOK speaks to you. If you're struggling to know the difference between what is right and wrong, and constantly playing tug of war with yourself, then ATLAB speaks to you. Personally i see a little of both in everyone. Some have it all but can't find themselves, some have strong wills and a good head on their shoulder, but a savage environment poisoning their intuition.

I love the story of ATLA and Korra equally despite some moments in Korra it isn't as bad as some people think. I personally love Korra's soundtrack more than ATLA and funny enough all of my favorite Korra soundtracks are in this video but then with the rain the background it's beautiful.

I am definitely more into with Korra , she has to pass this situation like most other people with fucking life trash , and still be the good side of the humanity that hate u for be weak and tired after all that journey of shit .
In ATLA I felt with Toph most time and katara somes , but LOK is all like us with alone life and dream to make a happy peaceful one .

Some people often criticize Korra, but I believe she is a captivating character who has undergone a challenging journey. Her path has been filled with pain, hardships, and obstacles, yet we witness her transformation and growth as she perseveres through it all, ultimately becoming the person she is by the conclusion of the series.
I find it funny that how much I have in common with Korra 😂 ATLA and LOK were very very big parts of my childhood but I never understood the messages until now... We both had post traumatic stress because of a massive fight (for me it was more like a massive war going on for 8 months) we both had friends and family that wanted to help us and still felt alone, both were in a wheelchair for a while, had depression for 3 years and needed time to heal... I still need time to heal and still I’m not the Avatar😂 August 2017 broke me, also found some of my old homies from waaay back in the day after many many years
Edit: I forgot to mention the part where I got poisoned too bc fake friends wanted me out of the way... I thought they help me out but all they wanted was me gone, very very long story it’s actually crazy

Avatar: The Legend of Korra was the most exiting show i watched growing up. I have heard people say it was both good and some say it was bad but to me, this show, especially the first season will always hold a very special place in my heart. Me and my brother used to rush home to watch this when new episodes were released. Goddamn, this show brings back so many memories of my brother. Love u misha

ATLA and LOK have taught me so much about life. I always come back to these two shows for life lessons even as an adult.

3:00 is the beginning to the build up that just gives me straight up chills. This show is just so touching and dearing to my heart. The lessons it’s taught me. This show is a bit darker but has a bigger meaning to it. The saga between ATLA and LoK is amazing! I hope that everyone can at least watch the two shows. Thank you for the music upload, I’m thankful to have found this video, especially to finish my homework haha. It’s great study music!

korra and aang are so different from one another yet alike in many ways. they deserve to be looked at like the two different people and avatars they are. no avatar is the same because no person is the same. just as tenzin advised korra to look inward to her inner spirit because raava isn’t what makes her who she is, we should look at every avatar as the strong and capable individuals they are. we shouldn’t compare them like this. we don’t like people comparing us to others? so why do you all keep wanting to pick fights and compare everything and everyone? not only is it unnecessary, it destroys the solace and happiness we find here in this universe (the atla and lok universe not like the irl universe but that one too i guess). just be peaceful. you can have your own thoughts and opinions, of course, but there is nothing good that’ll come out of you straight up trashing one avatar saying they’re not a good avatar. why even waste your breath with those words when you can speak words that would actually contribute to the world and make people feel uplifted? but i guess this is the plight of the world… and there’s nothing i can do or say to fix that. in this bigger picture where people have no empathy in this world, i cannot fix that. all we can do is have even more empathy to hopefully bridge the gap created by the lack of it. *sigh* ah man… i need to take a break.

Doesn't help id just heard a devastating story about a mom losing her child which made me cry already because I cant imagine the pain and every mother always feels that fear. Then this popped up I clicked it next thing I know I'm a puddle of tears wishing I could snuggle my baby but not wanting to wake him on a school night just because I'm a blubbering mess

The most painful scene i saw in Korra is when Watu punched Rava and Korra losing her past lives...maybe i shouldnt cried because i am a man but that was the most painful thing i saw in my life :(( that image of past avatars burn oh i think i lost my soul watching that :(((
That has to be the second most painful in my opinion, the torture and aftermath at the end of season three by the Red Lotus was horrific and quite heartbreaking. I have to agree with UnaVattu killing the past avatars was heartbreaking as well. I know season two isn't really well liked but I actually quite liked it though.
Is weird to not know why do you feel sad, for me it makes me think that I may exaggerating the whole thing. I can socialize and do my things in the day, but there are moments where everything feels so heavy and pointless. Right now I have everything I always wanted, I study in the university of my dreams, I have a job that I like, I have family and friends, but the hole is still there. I am writing this because I recognize so much pain in Korra, especially in the last season. Seeing how her traumas were sabotaging her showed me what my traumas were doing to me. When she went with Zaheer I almost cry, I though how could someone be so brave and strong, until I could do it myself. I have been going for the last two month to therapy, I don´t like it but I am finally facing the fears.
So if you feel anything similar from what i wrote I want you to know that one day we will feel less broke, we will use our experiences so we can improve. Until then I give you a hug so as Korra did to all of us.

Awesome instrumentation! I started liking LoK more after rewatching the show a few times, it still has that charm and humour of ATLA
thing about lok is that with her being older it feels like her struggles are so much more relatable and i have an easier time relating to korra than aang cause tho aang is such a great character but with only being 12 feels like doesnt have same struggles. the things that weakened lok was just some of the dumb things like spirit bending in the second season (didnt make sense to me). Atla will always be the best but ill always have love for lok

I can remember korra smile when she visited republic city to learn air banding,but after that she met a lot of villains and lost many things, banding,avatar state, avatar connection. Believe me no one wants to be weak. In her era the villain wasn't the same as the ang era. The world has changed, she needs to deal with peace and greed of the world leader , especially kuvira

A lot of people suspect they may be working on an Avatar Kyoshi animated series. If that's the case then I'm absolutely thrilled!
There is a fan made avatar series coming out someday called the Legend of Genji, who is implied to be a sandbender. It looks really cool and if Nickelodeon is smart (Which I highly doubt), then they'll bring the team in and make it an official Avatar story. It's still worth checking out either way though.
