People don’t understand traditional karate a lot. When people see that head movement they think boxing, but karate has it as well. Many schools don’t do those movements because they believe they aren’t karate, when in fact how couldn’t it be! Karate was a way to survive, and movement like this was SO important. I think it’s sad when people don’t understand just how useful karate is, Assuming it to be just a weak traditional form with no substance. When I’m fact it is composed all forms of attack and defense. I love karate and and I hope in the future it will get the respect it deserves.

That is my dojo brother Eric Shingu who is attacking Higaonna Sensei with kicking combinations. We both came out of Shihan Rodney Hu Sr dojo. We both have trained with Higaonna Sensei. During his years in the United States of America . Eric Shingu went to represent the USA at the 3rd Miyagi Chojun Festival. He was my teammate. Eric was also USA representive for the All Styles preworld Karate Championships in Okinawa. Rodney Boy Hu Sensei was Black Belt Kumite 3rd place winner.

If you delve into karate you will find simultaneous defence & attack, intercepting, stop hits, take-downs, hard & soft techniques, zanshin awareness, short, medium & long range & a lot more. When doing other arts (Jujitsu, Wing Chun, Boxing) after doing Wado Ryu, it gave me confidence to know that I had a good kick in reserve!

Why is the attacker aiming to not hit??????????????????????? Are they practicing to fight with a drunk person????

@SPlinter Echelon I do understand what Sabaki is. My teacher was taught by one of Hideyuke Asihara's student. My comment is still valid because when we practice Sabaki, we go for the real hit, not like these 2 are doing where the attacker is not aiming to hit. So even if the defender in this video doesn't move, he still won't get hit effectively.
If you train like that, you're training to fail. That's why I said if they were training to fight a drunk person.
We train aiming for a real hit so that if we don't apply Sabaki effectively, we will get hit. OSU

@@henryposadas3309 Not a problem bro. If they choose to drill it like that, it's their option.
We drill to simulate a real fight. We throw to hit our partners, if they don't move or do the evasion correctly, they get hit. We can make all the mistakes in the drill and we will not get hurt... In a real fight all it takes is a small mistake and you will pay dearly for it.
Just my humble opinion from real life experience. The way you drill is the way you fight in a real situation. But hey, everyone can train as they like.

Детский сад. Посмотрите как работают боксёры или те же таэквондисты, как они уходят и двигаются, а тут херня какая-то
