@@roadrunner9887yep That makes sense....spagetti gets more views than his movies for sure. But we cant deny that the man was very important to the cinema too...
It's crazy that The Man With No Name spins the chamber like that. He does it as it allows him to most quickly put the loaded bullet exactly where it is needed to fire. For a less skilled shooter it would have basically been reverse-Russian roulette where it creates a 5/6 chance of being killed by Ramon's rifle, for almost anyone else in the world that would have been the case. Ramon's look at him at the end is one of disbelief. He knows his opponent can't be foolish enough to do such a load as a bluff or gamble, for the whole duel was his own choice, but Ramon had no choice but try anyway, just in case this insanely well practiced and unorthodox loading technique with ridiculously high stakes was off by just a little bit. It wasn't.
And amazing that he shoots the rifle out of Ramon's hands before he guns down the other four. "I could have killed you first Ramon, but I will kill you last".
I don't think you could call him a great actor but he was the ideal actor for this part and parts similar to this. I know that he wasn't the first choice to play 'Joe' in this film, and there are some scenes where his acting seems a bit ham (like when he says he didn't think the Baxters would welcome him at the dinner party because of the fact that he put four of their men in the graveyard and he rubs his chin as he says it. I always thought that action seemed a bit lame). But he developed his own unique character which return's again and again in all his movies, whatever the setting or genre of the film.

This is the birth of the legendary Leone style and the begining of three incredible careers: Leones, Eastwoods and Morricones. They changed cinema forever.
Man, this scene is great. Has Kurosawa's "Yojimbo"s fingerprints all over it. Hanging old man, crazy old man, long range weapon dominated by the short range weapon, band of miscreants dispatched with finesse, and one final "gimmie" from the badass to the bad guy.
Watched this movie some 40 yrs ago but couldn't find it online because I didn't catch the title back then. It's amazing how time flies. Those days we don't go to movies in the city movie Halls (There were two (Majestic & Empire) in the city Dire Dawa, Ethiopia) ourselves but the rail company families had their own group at the school of Alliance Francaise and show western movies only on friday nights. With that level of accuracy, he should've just gone for the head. Honestly, the way this fight goes so differently than in original, proves Sergio Leone wasn't just copying Kurosawa.
He should. But that's when the quick perception of Man With No Name and his wit come to scene: He knows Ramon is a man of habits (the "aim fot thr heart" thing) and ego issues. That's what he mocks at him, to prevent being shot at any other point that isn't the chest. It's kind of the Batman trick.
There is one thing that's not fair in trilogy. After Good Bad Ugly Ely Wallache should have been awarded as best actor or at least best supporting actor. Clint Eastwood was perfect as Blondy. However we must admit, and It's obvious that Tuco (Ely Wallache) was the one making famous the first movie of trilogy. And, of course, Sergio Leone is the best western movie maker.
